Since many of us have stopped at Rio Tarcoles to see the crocs, thought this might be of interest to the membership. It is a set of two videos documenting a recent rescue of a giant (14+ ft or 4.5 meter) croc that had a bicycle tire around his throat which hindered his ability to eat.

This is not the first time some of the crocs at the Tarcoles river bridge have had problems. About 6 months ago, someone threw a coconut from the bridge and it was quickly swallowed by a croc. For months after, you could see the bulge of the coconut close to the crocs right-rear leg. Unfortunately that croc has disappeared and, according to locals, died due to the obstruction.
Always remember the beautiful nature you see here in Costa Rica is at the mercy of us humans. Please never do anything that might put any of it in danger and it will be here for you grandchildren to enjoy!
