Someone I know was in an accident with a bus and was the cause of Obama's motorcade being diverted on the way to the hotel from SJO last week.

She is an American citizen and unfortunately has an issue with her insurance and was pretty serverely messed up in the accident with two shattered ankles and a badly damaged knee and now no way of paying for the needed surgeries.

Fund raising is underway and asking for donations of about $5 per person to help her.

I would prefer not to post a direct link to the fundraising here but rather ask that you PM me if you are sincere about wanting to help.

Shame I can't post it here as some have questioned my honesty about sighting secret service agents eating breakfast in my hotel in Guanacaste over a week ago, it's idiots like you that make sharing information and helping others such a pain in the ass these days!

I sent you a PM w/ my email. Let me know the avenue. Don't blame you for your hesitance, and the follow up post from the guy who said they were up in your neck of the woods to scout Liberia Airport made it all come together for me.

We know you're straight and I remember you were also badly, badly injured in CR.

Saw the pic's of her wreck in one of the e-papers.

So was mi dinero.

Only you and maybe a few others on this board, Pops?, know what Jen is going thru. I hope her family can get to her quick and stay for a while, like I remember you told me yours did when you got hurt. Her pre-wreck photo's show she is really a sweetheart.

Boys, belly up to the bar. Took me 15 seconds from the link he'll send, pay via paypal or CC.
If 1,000 of us send $15, it'll make a difference as to where she is going to be laying her head for at least a month.

And boys, another reminder--get the travel insurance. All of them have a bunch of Med Pay for in CR meds.

And don't be bashful for posting that you joined. Nothing wrong with being in the in crowd.

Where and how did you get that suspicion? Regardless of your answer, I can tell you upfront this isn't a scam. The girl is severely injured lying in a SJ hospital. Help her out.

Tell ya what Danielson, next time your wife, daughter, or even the daughter of a friend is in an accident and hurt we can accuse you of a scam.

But as was said in Caddyshack, "world needs ditch diggers too Danny." Guess this world would not be complete without a jackass like you either.

Exact reason I never posted a link to it here. I put it out there if you are interested please pm me and you can help privately. For what it is worth I have shared this with many people, most who I know personally. Only two people have shared negative comments and they have both been publicly shared. Karma now knows who is who. I am doing this cause it is something positive and helpful. Of you don't like it you are equally entitled to your opinions.

Crgolfer

I am sorry.. let me back up for a second.

your calling me a jackass and a ditch digger because I question the validity of this?? you are asking people for money on an internet forum

Is this the same person that called Matt at the Amistad a scam because there was a misunderstanding??

instead of calling anyone any names and revealing a certain ignorance..which is becoming more and more popular with the American Culture It would make more sense to plan a more authentic fund raiser.

This would ultimately lend credibility to the cause plus raise more money.

there are sites available that can assist in this process instead of this lame attempt to be a hero.

If you truly cared then you would make the effort. If you are going to do something then do it right for godsake.

or maybe it's you that is a Jackass LOL :)

thanks

Dannyboy

PS. By the way using Caddyshack as your frame of reference seems to be a good choice for you

Was referring to my self as the ditch digger actually. If you feel any reason it was directed at you that is on you....

Have known CRG for a number of years and can tell you he is a straight shooter and a good guy. He made me aware of this recent accident. It was covered in the Costa Rican news here ....

http://qcostarica.com/edition/2013/05/0 ... s-leaving/
and here...

There is indeed a FaceBook page set up for her right now with a link to the fundraising effort. There has been at least one fundraising event held in Guanacaste for her so far and CRG had a hand in those efforts.

Enough money was raised through a few different effort including many of you who reached out to me personally. Surgery is taking place in early hours tomorrow morning and things are looking up. Thank you to those who helped!

Amazing how fast a few people can get things going and small $5 to $10 donations can make a difference.

Obvious dig at me, since I was the person who mentioned it seemed unlikely that the Secret Service blows their cover like that. I never once said that I doubted you saw people with badges, just doubted they were SS. They could have been any number of US/Costa Rican law or govt agencies.

And because of "idiots like me" you can't share information to help a person with an injury?

This is what you should tell her -

"Miss, we're sorry we couldn't raise the funds to have your surgery, but a few weeks ago, there was a guy on an anonymous online forum that centers around prostitution, who said he doubted the validity of Secret Service agents at a breakfast buffet. Due to this comment, we weren't able to raise the money. It's just so tough to share information when you have people like that on the internet."

And you're an idiot if you think people are just going to blindly donate money to some "victim". This is an age old scam, people pretending to help others in need and then pocketing the money. I'm not saying you're doing this, but the lack of an official donation site causes some concern, and people have a right to be skeptical about where their money is going.
