Last I was in Costa Rica was January 2012, almost a year ago. Just wondering if the smoking ban went into effect since then and if so, is it enforced? |

Can you still smoke In HLH bar or just in wiseash lounge? Are there outdoor smoking bans such as around the pool at Hotel Cocal? |

No smoking in the Hlh bar, you can smoke upstairs in the lounge area and in the cigar bar. |

You can smoke in the cigar shop provided: You have purchased your cigars there No cigarette smoking Many cigar shops have similar rules No idea about the Cocal; I guess I'll know jan 17th! And yes, I know I'm on the "wrong side of history" but I think a lot of people come down to CR to kick back, do things they would not normally do at home - like smoke - I could probably list the reasons it makes no sense to allow indoor smoking, but to be 100% candid, a little of the wild side of CR went away with the ban. |

I was at the cocal in oct cant smoke anywhere on property including pool or room but you can walk out to the beach area thats where everyone goes. |

Thanks for the info , Last year i brought 20 of my own cigars down for a 5 day trip to Cocal , that wont be practical if i cant smoke by the pool. |
