I think they changed the law so that now it can be put on the ballot so the residents of a municipality, township, etc can vote yes or no on Sanday sales. I have a friend who lived just south of Atlanta until a few months ago, and she had to vote last year to allow Sunday sales. |

In Ontario we have had Sunday beer/liquor stores open since the 1990s. In the province of Saskatchewan they have "off sales" at the bars, were you can buy a box of beer and take it with you. 'Party Pak to Go"

Arriving, I usually bring in a few bottles of high end vodka from SJ airport Duty Free shop. Really cheap compared to US prices due to shedding of all the various taxes. Grey Goose, Stoly's, etc. Never really priced high end vodka in SJ, I just assumed that there is a significant savings buying duty free and bringing it in. Knowing CR booze isn't top heavy with gringo liquor taxes, is there a significant savings worth lugging the stuff from the airport when I am already over loaded with luggage and stuff? |
