The xe.com site is pretty well in the ball park. I use it often.
When getting colons in cash I still use the ATM in the HDR. One beside the front desk.
Convenient and safe. Unless u flash cash around in the air

Just bought a bunch of mdse. and paid with my San Jose bank dollar debit card. Got and exchange rate of 503.48. Not bad instead of 492. |

If during the day they change the rate they last reported they must advise the central bank who change the number on the website. Take note of Casa de Cambio Global Exchange who operate the exchange booth in the arrival area of the SJO airport.
