I'm pretty good at picking up women, in general.

So, I'm a little bit concerned about being at a place like the Beatle Bar, think I'm picking up a non-working girl-- and then in the morning, having her tell me it's going to cost $250.

Is this type of thing at all prevalent?

Texasrolex,

I would say that 90% of the girls at the Beatle Bar are pros. the rest are either gringa tourists, bartenders and waitresses or the occasional girl that is in there with her boyfriend. LOL, pretty much everyplace in Jaco will have working girls looking or not looking for business.

If you are good at picking up girls, then you should be able to pick up a pro or non-pro in Jaco for free or for a song and a dance. Look for lady's nights where the ratio will be more or less 50-50. Rock n Olas has ladies' night on Friday, Hotel Poseidon on Thur. I believe that The Backyard has there day on Mondays or Wednesday. Just ask around.

After 1am most of the girls will congregate at Central or Pancho Villa. Pretty easy to pick up any type of girls there and if they are pros and you play your cards right, the price should be free or cheaper. Dont be afraid to dance. In the day time I have never had a problem picking up girls at the Bohio but it is usually after 2pm and then the cost of the alcohol you buy amounts to paying for it. Good hunting.

She won't tell you that in the morning, she'll tell you that in the night when you are getting ready to leave the Beatle Bar. If you pick her up at the BB you can expect to pay her something. If you want a freebie....good luck. Chances are you will be paying....but I would never pay her $250 for a toda la noche. For all night, never pay more than $100, and maybe even less.

Hey guys who know Jaco. I'm still trying to find out if anyone has run into Andrea from the Beatle Bar. She could also be known as Yeny. She is a 29 year old Colombiana who recently died her black hair blonde. She may still have braces on her teeth and she has great legs. Any info on her would be very appreciated. She usually hangs out with an older colombiana named Sonia. Thanks and I'll buy you guys a drink on my next trip.

Zef, what about a picture. That would help a lot!
Are you planning to go to CR soon?

Tex, can speak first hand to your question. Have done todo la noche with a few girls who never addressed money up front. This was after dinner, dancing and what is generally refered to as "date night". In the morning, would offer $70-$100 in colones as a "propina" or "regallo". On two occassions, the girls looked suprised and would ask for $150-$300, which, they would remind me, was their standard rate. I always stood firm and said that what I gave was a fair price. Actually told one who tried to stand her ground that "making love to her was like ph*cking my ex-wife and she should be happy I was in a generous mood because the dinero she got was much more than she was worth". After an aukward silence, she left.

Chica's dont get loud and in your face like gringa's when their mad, they kinda sulk quietly and go away. Funny thing, saw the "ex-wife" girl my last trip. She smiled and wanted to get together again. Funny how quickly she got over the dinero thang

In retrospect, I think "no money mentioned up-front" is a sales tactic that some of them use to take advantage of a nice guy. Remember, Just offer whats fair and stand your ground. They will respect you more than if you whimp out and cough-up the extra dollars.
