Yeah, I'm usually the one that breaks this story but it knocked my desk over on its side.

I was on the phone saying, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, Oh Shit !

I think it was a 7.9 92miles away from San Jose.

Can anyone report on damage with San Jose. I'm scheduled to fly down this Sunday, wondering on whether to cancel or not. Anyone have any info on the airport (damage - is it still open)?

No big damage in San Jose, Incredibly. It did shake all the water out of my toilets and kitchen sink.

USGA revised to 7.6. It is only Wednesday long time till your flight. Relax the damage, if any. to the infrastructure will be well documented in plenty of time to change your travel plans,

I hope everyone in CR (either living or visiting) is safe and didn't sustain too much damage. I'm scheduled to fly down on Friday morning and hope everything will be good to go. Seems like it should be thus far... Figures its my first trip.

Be Safe!

Mikey

you should be fine mikey. hope aftershocks don't bother you because those tend to go on for weeks and sometimes months.

I guess I'll get to find out if aftershocks bother me... Being from the NE, it'll be another new experience to add to the list.

Be safe everyone!

My office in San Pedro is damaged. Broken glass and fallen cement everywhere! They had to close it.... thus we are all working from home. I have seen no damage in the Escazu area and everything is back to normal here.

Early reports indicate no major damages or casualties,, Thank God and hope it stays that way as other news comes in.
