Starting on Monday, new 5,000, 10,000, 50,000 notes will be in circulation. For those leaving CR, old notes will not be in use Jan. 1, 2013. So only hold on to the new notes for future use in CR.

no coin changes. But the 50,000 colones note is nice, equals about $100
