Me and a couple buddies are going to try and get in Jaco either tom (Wed) or Thursday as we are with group in Punta Renas. As we are sneaking away for "golf and casino" we only have from about 1-7. I understand this is not ideal but it's what we got. Can anybody give best advice for finding a little fun during those times in Jaco? Obviously the chicas would be better at night but was hoping for best advice during the day. Much appreciated and me and the boys WILL be back rolling solo soon!! Pura Vida! |

Puntarenas-Jaco, app 50 miles each way and often lots of traffic cops on 34. Weekdays, lots of truck traffic which can bog you down, you will run into some hilly, winding spots. Two lane highway for the most part. You are going to be so tempted to pass a chugging 20 mph semi when it would not be prudent. So 45-75 minutes each way? I am no Jaco chica expert, been there 50 times but only passing thru to eat and stretch on my way to-from Quepos. Cocal Hotel poolside is the current night hotspot as per this board but not sure about during the day, . My understanding of the Jaco chica scene is that it's an after dark thing, other than getting lucky with a chance encounter on the street or lunch. Assuming, though, that you get lucky in this daytime time frame, where are you guys going to do the dirty deeds? Other Jaco pro's on this board may have an idea for a short time hotel. I think I saw a post about a short time hotel near Beatle Bar within the last 45 days, or maybe a head's up hooking up daytime, or some tel #'s. I'd say go golfing and relax, get it next time. Too much time pressure going into the blind with your fact pattern. You aren't missing much if you don't see Jaco this trip. Good luck. |

Much appreciated advice D. We are going to play golf and then go in for a drink just to get a flavor as we will already be in Jaco. No expectations. |

Hotel Cocal would be a good start. Lots of other bars and restaurants in Jaco. The beach is very atypical of a CR beach but a little better than what have seen in Puntarenas. Sounds like you have a car. Just for kicks, squeeze in time and go 5 km south of Jaco to Playa Hermosa which is a much, much nicer beach, raging surf, laid back surfer hang out, a few bars. (You have to back out to Rt 34 to get there). Hope you don't get rained on, as you know CR's Central Pacific has been getting hit hard past few days. The road you will be on was closed yesterday at Puerto Caldera. |

I believe there is still a XXX club above the restaurant Pancho Villa in Jaco. They open at 4. Pay as you go for drinks. They have rooms upstairs that overlook the inside of the restaurant. |

Please post about your where you golfed and what you thought of the course, etc., helpful to alot of guys. I think Panchos's XXX has been closed for over a year, and when it was open, got many bad reviews on this board for alot of different reasons. I'll let the Jaco pro's fill in the blanks. |

Pancho Villas is now "Red Lobster", Costa Rican Style. Divas, the place above Pancho Villas was a serious rip off and has been closed for awhile. If you're just looking for snapper, and really don't have any time, considering the drive time, there used to be 3 places on the same street in Puntarenas--of course the quality was hit or miss--think $20 pu*sy |
