Is it just me or has the speed of this site slowed down dramatically over the last couple of weeks? I have no knowledge of these technical things, but it almost acts like we switched from AT&T to the 3 Amigos Website Hosting Service.

Very annoying to waste time waiting for pages to load.

There is absolutely no change in the site, server or hosting... In fact our server is running at 20% less handle and shows no slow downs or any issues that I'm aware in the log files.

If there are some others who are seeing this please advise, but I'm on this site 18 hours a day and if anyone would notice the slowdown it would be me.

Be happy to hear any others voices. But we show no issues.

I have no issues with speed, and have seen NO changes recently.

Tomas.......you need to have more fun.

Cut your CRT hours back to 8-10 hours per day. Use your free time to get laid. Don't worry, we'll be all right.

Interesting. If it is my computer, I am sorry for the false alarm. My computer is fast and so far every other site loads quickly. I will try to switch to Google Chrome and see if it loads faster.

Again, sorry if I'm the only one.

I would need you to describe in detail the issue. Browser used. Firewall or virus protection settings. Your definition of slow. Again 12 to 18 hours a day. Various times. Using multiple devices including my phone and I don't see it.

Was hanging up on my replies re: dennis Rodman this afternoon, but when I just cancelled to re-reply, the reply was already posted. No clue, great board, not a problem, all sites have occasional problems that probably are not the website but the highway in between.

Here is my best attempt at describing my issue. I use Internet Explorer 9 on Windows 7 Home Premium, SP1. I have an Intel I5 processor at 3 GHZ with 6GB ram and a 64 bit operating system. I use Norton 360 Version 6.2.1.5. I am on Comcast Cable and almost all web pages and photos load very fast.

This site also always loaded fast for me. Photos and index pages alike. But about two weeks ago I noticed the picture on the home page was loading in pieces; first the top third, then the next third, then the bottom. At the same time, when I logged on and clicked on "new posts" it took about 10 seconds to load the new posts. This had never happened before and I hoped it was just a temporary slowdown. But ever since, the front page loads slowly, and when I click on new pages or posts I watch the little arrow going in circles while I wait for the page to load. So far this is not happening on other sites. I switched over to Google Chrome but the same delay in loading the home page occurred.

I hope this info is helpful. I will continue to observe my system to see if it has its own problems.

I am using Chrome on a MacBook Air. No firewall and no virus protection used.

What it is doing is when you click on a forum it loads very fast and then hangs up while the little wheel is turning saying it is doing something. It appears the banner ad at the top of each page is hanging up.

I am using Fiber Optics through Verizon but it also has developed the same lag on my iPhone while using safari through AT&T 3g.

Admin; You are now using Googleapis.com for something. WHY?
Anything Google sucks if like me, you value privacy. (Especially Chrome)

I found it with a Flash filter, using Mozilla FireFox.
I disabled that and got my speedy connection back.

This is direct from our developers.
Quote:
Googleapis.com" is some kind of browser add-on and thus this is a client-side issue. We don't see how this can be resolved on the server-side ;).

In short we feel any slowdown issue on a particular client has to be due to some sort of browser or security issue within your own ISP or your own settings security or what not.

I had them run multiple tests, from various different settings and we can't duplicate the slow down as I have previously stated I don't see it on my end with all the time I spend here.

I will reboot the server later today perhaps that will solve the issue but right now we can't find anything that would cause the lag issue on certain ISP's.

What is being used to load the banners at the top of the page? They are causing the problem. It takes forever to load them and everytime you switch to a new thread etc. it reloads. I really think the issue is on your end.

Try disabling the banners as a test.
