Who might be interested in doing some riding through the cloud forest outside of Villa Blanca? http://www.villablanca-costarica.com/to ... iry-farm/# is the web site to begin with.

The challenge is getting to and from the Finca. It's right outside Villa Blanca which is about 20km outside of San Ramon. About a 1.5 hour drive from SL. I figure PuraVidaTransport could provide the transport and every body split the costs (I, of course, being the idea man I am will get an ever so slight discount, right :?:   ). I'd like to go 3 or 4 days in a row myself....

Anyone interested in seeing the cloud forest in this fashion? $22 per hour is pretty darn cost effective.....it's getting there and back that is a pain. And if you're not aware of Villa Blanca: http://www.villablanca-costarica.com/ 5 stars and cheap for you get..... having your own car for extended stays is probably best....

Getting there is easy...walk out the hotel, get in my car and I'll take care of the rest. A round-trip from downtown San Jose to that place including time for lunch and all the horseback riding you can do would run $150. If you have 5 guys, run $30 each.

I might suggest that you combine it with a canopy tour that is just a few more miles up the road. Here is a link to their website: http://www.sanluiscanopytour.com/

Plenty of time in a day to do both. At $22 an hour for the horseback riding, $65 (If I remember right) for the canopy, $10 for lunch/drinks and $30 for transport, would be a great time for a total of just $127 per person with 5 people going.

For private transport in my Toyota Landcruiser, one-way to Jaco from downtown is $125 for CRT VIP members or $150 for non-members. From the airport, one way to Jaco is $100 for VIP members or $125 for non. A day trip going out to Jaco and back to San Jose for VIP members would run $135 (6 hours or less) up to $225 (up to 12 hours). Between 6 and 12 hours, add $20 an hour to the $135 price. For non-VIP members, those prices are $150 and $250 respectively. Please let me know if I can be of service!

OK: Got two ready to go riding up some 20km west of San Ramon just outside of Hotel Villa Blanca.....how many others care to join? Leisurly ride via horseback through the cloud forest at about 3100ft elevation. Others? Add your remarks as I'm up for three days worth of riding....2 hours per day....but more than willing to go for only one.....right across the way is a massive zip line......

You're going to be there for Halloween......this excursion can be before or after "the day"....or both......Join in....light up....and be happy..... 8)

Could prove to be a very pleasant little outing, although I do expect rain...but it's way cool up in the cloud forest with the rain IF you're even half assed prepared. One thing: I shall not be sharing any of my errrrr.....water...yeah....water....that'll I'll be humping in my backpack. Bring your own. :P

Well, Sharpbloke, this trip organization is for over the Halloween time....just before or right after.....

However, I have shown CRT member and vendor PuraVidaTransport where the joints are and I'm certain he can help you out. Perhaps you can get a couple of other guys together during the time frame you're there and make a go of it. You can contact PuraVidaTransport via PM on the CRT sight or check out his webpage which is http://www.puravidatransport.com/ http://www.puravidatransport.com/cards.htm has all his contact data from SKYPE to cell phone to email.

He has listed in charges in this thread, but perhaps direct contact with him for your specific dates may net you something different. Give it a try!

Oh...and just for your info.....the horesback riding is right outside Villa Blanca http://www.villablanca-costarica.com/to ... iry-farm/# and that same operation also has a zip line.....which is not advertised......the San Luis zip line is a good ride from the horses.....why waste the time in transport when you can walk across the way to an almost as good, and perhaps even as good if not better operation right where you are? Check it out. Good luck.

Thus far, we've got 4/5 requesting to go on this one ride. Rather than sending me pm's, please post here so PVT can get a gauge as to what he can supply transport wise. He's giving US a great transport price.

Personally, I want to go to riding more than just once during this time frame......; That's a good thing, really, because PVT, which can be found on the web here: http://www.puravidatransport.com isn't driving a 300 person bus.

So let us all cooridnate via this thread......and these rides are for the period around Halloween Party time.......; if you want to stay at the SL and drink......just mighty fine.....but if you want to get out and see the country side AND ride horses......sign up.

PVT has made note of the zipline tour, San Luis.....: There IS a zipline right where the horseback riding is located, althought it's costs are not something I have looked into. If that's what you're into call 1-506-2461-0643 and post the info. That's to Finca Julietta who does the horseback.....they also have combined with the zipline right across the road. Now, PVT may not have a "rate" with that zipline....so you guys be certain to provide him the "tip" you believe is coming....until and if PVT wants to set up something "Official" with that operator. I don't have any desire to drive/ride anymore in a van than I need to and the zip line at San Luis is just not my thing.....

Anyway.....this horseback riding stuff IS shaping up....but we must stay coordinated...and the best way to do that is via this thread and, MAYBE pm's to Puravidatransport and perhaps me. I'll go on an as many rides as get organized.....ridiing horseback up in the cloud forest is a BLAST. (REMINDER: IT WILL AND SHALL BE RAINY (GREEN) SEASON: BRING PROPER GEAR.....no bitchining allowed during the ride or you might be walking point.......!!!! Good things comng forward!

Still working away on getting this little thing to happen. Looks like PVT is gonna be busy during the dates possible (very fluid/fluxive environment).....but we've got 2 other operations for the same money available.

Looking at October 30 as THE day/date, but it's still open......

Any other horseback riders wanting in, please begin letting me know so we can make certain there'll be enough room in the transporter.........too....be prepared and have a modest amount of rain gear.....even if it's just a fresh set of dry clothes to get into after the ride. We're thinking one hour ain't enough......TWO HOUR RIDE seems like the full mellow deal....

Yeeee Hawwww~~ 8) 8)
