For two consecutive days, a total of 610 thousand people from different parts of the Greater Metropolitan Area (GAM) will be without water for 12 hours, but such suspension shall be divided in two. The first group will be dry tomorrow are 60 000 residents of the Central Canton of Carthage, whom the vital fluid will begin to miss them from 6.30 am and not until 7.00 pm that it will return to the tubes.

The central area of ​​Carthage, sixth avenue, East and West districts, San Francisco, Guadalupe and Holy Name will be the places affected. The reason is the cleanup of the treatment plant that will make the Costa Rican Institute of Aqueducts and Alcantartillados (AyA).

Meanwhile, seven counties in the province of San José and Cartago one of the second group will be affected, as will be dry on Saturday. It is estimated that water shortages will hurt 550 000 people and the service will be suspended from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm

The places are harmed Coronado, Curridabat, Homeless, Goicoechea, La Union, Montes de Oca, Moravia and San Jose.

To address the shortage, the AyA will provide the service via tankers in Coronado, Curridabat, Homeless, Goicoechea and Zapote and in hospitals San Juan de Dios and the Women's Clinic and Marcial Fallas.
