Wow, if you're ever gonna do one, now is the time for it. Pretty chilly for San Jose. Woke up under the covers thinking a big girl sure would have felt good. :D

It was minus 30 with the wind chill here Tuesday night on my last shift at work. Not fun trying to pull a 767 into a hanger on an ice covered ramp while freezing your nads off :shock:

I'm sure I'll find SJO more then warm enough for me :D

After working in Siberia (Omsk, Russia) for two years in the late 90's I can safely say that it never gets cold in San Jose. I makes me laugh at what Ticos and Colombians call cold. But, in their defence I guess it is all relative. Personally, I would take a cold day in San Jose any time!

I think it is the wind that makes it really chilly here. It is strong and puts a nice chill all the way to your bones, but like you said it is all relative....

Yes, also after living anywhere for a while your body adjusts to the climate. Then what is cold (or for that matter hot) will change substantially. But, like I said. Once you have experience a cold that you can never get use to it takes on new meaning.

Damn Xpat, can't even imagine that! You're talking bout one of the coldest places on earth from what I understand. Do you ever get truly warm there even with all the layers?

TW the summer was actually ok. In the winter the only place warm was indoors. I will never forget my first day there, it was -38 Celcius. Friggin cold! Until then I thought those men in the Russian fur hats looked strange. It took all of ten seconds to realize that I wanted on too. There is a very good reason why Russian women still like fur coats to this day and it ain't all about fashion Great experience but, glad it is behind me.

Over the last 20 years, I've done about 7 years total living and working in Canada's high arctic. Including over a year in Resolute Bay (75 degrees north). I used to have to carry around "Bear Bangers" to scare away any stray polar bears I might run across as I walked from the staff house to the airplane every morning. Heck, had one polar bear break down our mud room door to get at a box of frozen food we had stored in there. :)

The coldest weather I worked in was at Nanisivik airport back in the mid 90's, before they moved it to Arctic Bay. With the wind chill, it was minus 76 Celsius. I was working on an old Hawker Siddley HS748 and we had to leave one engine running to keep the aircraft powered and heated. The CAT loaders that were bringing us our freight had been running for over 20 days straight as they couldn't risk shutting them down. Even oil changes were done with them running. One loader even shattered a tire on a rock, it got so cold. I have a 3 inch scar on one of my forearms from when I reached up to put a blanket on the engine and my arm came out of the parka and touched the cold metal of the engine cowl... instant blistering and a permanent white scar.

Ya, a cold day in San Jose is perfect for me. Now if only the chicas could keep their cold feet to themselves 8)

No, but the quantity may increase depending on the average overnight lows... have to keep those BTU's at acceptable levels :D

Oh definitely, but only a certain type of big girl. I didn't hook up but was chatting with a big girl last Sunday night. She was round and a bit plump, but solid. Don't get me wrong. I only get an occasional taste. haha And can't stand the sloppy fat chicks. If the belly hangs, flows over the belt or has rolls it is repulsive. Same for the pouch. But on a cold night, just the right plumpness can be nice. :D

You guys are right!!! Need to keep the body temp up. I have seen some what I would call "thick" chicks in the SL lately that could keep us warm....!!!!
