Here is a 501C3 that helps Ch*ld prostitutes off of the streets. Can anyone tell me who is purchasing these Ch*ldren? I have never suspected anyone that i ever met in CR. Yes i do understand that they are there. In 10 trips or so i have never been approached by a cabbie or pimp etc. http://salvandocorazones.org/Salvando_C ... /Home.html |

This kind of stuff just makes my skin crawl. I truly hate scum who exploit Ch*ldren. But, having said that and read the article, in ten or more trips I have never seen anything out of the ordinary at the airport. Anyone else? |

a little "fuzzy math" in my opinion........"enslaved in prostitution"...highly unlikely, and some of those 15-17 y 11 month ticas are pretty attractive and I bet more than a few of you have been with them...whether you believe it or not, or even knew it clearly,.... Ch*ld abuse of any kind is repulsive and deserving of strong punishment but this subject, as well as many others written about in the press, deserves a lot of reading between the lines |

I am suspecting that this is somewhat a Tico/Nica type thing. The Ch*ldren are locals i suspect, no imports. Rotten no matter who. Our group had usually 6-7 guys going everywhere and i have seen pick pockets in action. People shot dead and lying in the street but no of us have ever been approached by anyone. Never ever over heard any conversations at any bar or anywhere pertaining to such. |

Judges don't believe in jail time down here for some reason. People always bitch about the police, but it is actually judges! I don't know for sure, but don't think there are any educational requirements to be a judge. |

Nice website. Donation page looks like it's working. To bad there's absolutely no content or facts of any kind on the rest of the website other then some staff bio's who, incidentally, are composed of a day care operator, IT tech, Chartered Accountant, Physicist (wtf?), someone who "worked in the legal industry" (code for paralegal or even a secretary, lol) , some women who is part of a thing in India that, since 2007, has helped a total of over 70 women get jobs in their company making things (IE - sweat shop), and the cornerstone of their little crusade.. a Hypnotist! Ya, I'll send them a donation right away ![]() |

It sounds unbelievable! ______________________________________________________________________________________________________ RE: Mayor of Quepos/AguirreThursday, December 22, 2011 2:27 PM From: "Editor Insidecostarica" <editor@insidecostarica.com>Add sender to Contacts To: " Dxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx@yahoo.com> Mr Dxxxxxxxxx, thank you for writing. There really isn't anything interesting in the story, other than another politician - this time low level - caught up in corruption and using public funds for his own use. He is just one that is caught, the others have to be pretty concerned. Not important? Low level politician? Even if he was so what, they still caught him with 600 porno CD's of K*ds. But hardly low level, Mayor and CEO (including of the police) of the huge Canton of Aguirre which encompasses Quepos and Manuel Antonio, and south to the town of Playa Matapalo and even further to the south; to the towns of Naranjito and Londres and even further to the east, and halfway to Parrita to the North, huge area. |

Not sure I have the complete answer but, I remember reading about a "Sex Tourist" sting the CR government set up awhile back. The sting was targeting tourists coming to CR for illegal sexual adventures (read und***ge). The sting resulted in the arrest of numerous Ticos and very few non-ticos. I did a search and couldn't find the thread on CRT. |

I think they look at it as it is not that big a deal, unless it is a gringo! Sad to say, but that seems to be the perception. |

My friend had just moved to San Jose, but had been travelling to C.R. for 10-12 years prior. THIS what he told me, second hand info and my memory is sketchy. The C.R government had signed on to some world agreement about human trafficking. The Police did a sting trying to arrest Americans, they did it for about week and arrested mostly Ticos, a couple of canadians and a couple of other foreign nationals , but no Americans. So they stopped doing it. Again this is from memory of what my friend who lives C.R told me. In all my trips I have never been approached by any one for this type of activity. According to my friend this is a Tico problem. It is truly disgusting. Flaco |

All of the above is what ticks me off about the white guy "statue" at the airport exit after you leave customs and the billboards around there warning foreign tourists about not doing this. The mayor of a major Canton in CR gets caught last week, what happens? Free, no bail, can't hold public office 6 months, all done in two days after they caught him and his top aide with 600 dvd's of minors and after 4 months of under cover investigation by OIJ, their FBI, the closest you are going to get to what we would call the real "police" in CR for the most part. My tica amiga lives in his Canton, she said rumors were out for months that he was pimping minors and nobody was surprised about the outcome. My gringo friends in Quepos, capitol of the Canton, mostly biz owners, are fit to be tied because this is the same guy that has stalled every police reform and initiative. If you have ever been a victim of a crime there, like my amiga, forget about them doing anything. I went with her to the police station one night after I got to her place and after she had an incident with her ex. He had pushed her around, slapped her, tore her blouse and threw her cell phone into the bush. Guess what? He followed us and parked 100 meters from the front of the station, (the one by Pali in Quepos). She told them and pointed him out. They didn't even write a report. He peeled off laughing at us. Recent polls in CR that have been published show that fear of crime and the insecurity is their biggest worry, and there's alot of other stuff to be worried about. |

Eventually, the wrong people will be victimized by crime and they will be wealthy enough to bankroll a "vigilante" squad. Off duty cops will be paid to make some crooks and predators meet some "curbside justice." However, this lets the genie out of the bottle and it can degenerate into a death squad. I Colombia, about 30 years ago, the guerrillas realized that they could get more ransom money if they stopped kidnapping the Ch*ldren of ranchers (their traditional class enemies) and started kidnapping the Ch*ldren of the noveu rich drug traffickers. The traffickers created MAS (Muerte a Sequestradores/Death to Kidnappers). This morphed into Los PEPEs (People Persecuted by Pablo Escobar) which morphed into the paramilitary/self defense groups/auto-defensas of the ACCU, and then the AUC. In El Salvador, the old Mano Blanco death squad went away, but when kidnappers started targeting the rich in the 1990's, businessmen got together and subsidized a really effective anti-kidnapping squad in the National Police. They paid for vehicles, equipment, gasoline(!), and good vetting (to include polygraphs) of the team members. |
