HM I have got to know a few of these girls quite well. While I will acknowledge a few of them does not represent a good sample as a representative of these girls as a whole. I got to know them, their parents, their Ch*ldren in some cases, and siblings in all cases. There was one thing about all of them in common. The were very good liars. Extremely good, acouple even prided themselves on this fact. I never got caught up in the lies myself and they all certainly tried with the RFM. I did make it clear that I was not about to donate to their charity of the moment. I got the request for medication, utilitiy bills, rent, sick sister, sick mother, dentist an many I am sure that I forget now. I did donate at Christmas and their birthday admittedly. But, once they understood I did not even like the requests and they were not getting anything except on my terms then they stopped.
One one occassion with the girl I was closest to she came to me in my hotel one day and said her mother was sick and she needed to go back to Colombia. She was in tears and acting frantic. I told her that she had better get her ass back to the SL to make money for the ticket. She said that she could only work on Sundays because she was undocumented and risked deportation. She wanted to leave on her own accord with the hope of returning one day.
I turned my back on her request and left the country. She phoned making her plees with more tears several times. I refused. Eventually she got the money working in two weekends at the SL. She did return to Colombia. I went there about 10 months later. I stayed with her in her mother,s 3 bedroom home along with 9 other family members. The was nothing wrong with her mother. Nothing at all. Actually, I knew this before I even got to Colombia because her daughter told me. She would never admit she was lying but, she was caught and she knew it. I let it go.
My point is that I am sure she wanted the money to go home but, the story was a lie. I do not know the girl you talked to, nor was I there to judge for myself. However, based on my limited experience there is no way I would believe that you are getting the complete truth. Maybe some version thereof. Perhaps she really needed the money and the guy requested something that humilated her ... I just don't know .... But in my opinion from what you have written neither do you.
I have no skin in the game so either way I don't care. I am just saying take anything they say, no matter how convincing with a grain of salt. In your case she just likely spun a story because she needed someone to care.
