There was recently a post in which a guy said he would not walk the streets after dark, period. Said you should take a cab, even between the BM and the Prez.
Is it that bad? I was there last week and was out after dark--early, like before 9 p.m.--and stayed in that core area around the BM, the Prez, etc. and had no problem.
Wouldn't I be safe if I get a girl at the BM at say, 8 p.m., and we walk to the Prez, where I will be staying? I know better than to try to walk to Idem alone at night (it may even be smarter to do a cab to Idem if you are alone, even in the day ). And I know not to be walking through Morazon Park at night, but BM to the Prez? Do I really need a cab for that

It was our first visit and the first night after getting off a plane at 10, and well we were a bit heatered...but I knew about the KL from this site, and had to check it out but wasn't sure where it was. The cab driver drove us kind of around the block so it took a little while, about 30 seconds...but hay it cost about a buck and was worth not walking the wrong way in our state, and we found the promised land with a couple of 20 year old ticas. And of course took a taxi back to the Prez.
