Post subject: | Message to the bitter, angry guys at the BM bar |
After my most recent trip to CR and meeting several american's at the BM bar, I have to post this message. This has to be said because its getting to the point where I don't even want to meet any American's down there over the age of 20. NOTE: I AM NOT SAYING EVERYONE DOWN THERE IS LIKE THIS. The majority of guys I've met are pretty cool and normal and don't hold any major chips on their shoulder. Here is my message: NOBODY WANTS TO HEAR ABOUT HOW YOU GOT phucked OVER BY A WOMAN, EX WIFE, GIRLFRIEND, ETC! In almost every conversation I've listened to by some of the guys at the BM bar, the topic of how the guy got screwed over by his wife, girlfriend, etc. comes up during the conversation. It leads to a very stressful emotion which then BRINGS DOWN EVERYONE IN THE GROUP! Would you want to hear how I got phucked over by my last girlfriend or wife or how I hated my prior boss? Would you give a flying Phuck if I told you my personal problems after only meeting you 15 minutes before? HELL NO. So what makes you think anyone of us cares to hear your sob stories?? SAVE IT FOR YOUR THERAPIST IF YOU HAVE ONE (and if you don't go get one)! We are in CR to have fun and to escape the realities of the bitches in the US! We don't want to be reminded of how screwed up they are or how you got burned, etc. so please before telling everyone how badly you got burned think about whether you want to hear some other guys' sob story. --------- I feel better already.... |

Romulus- Maybe you've had some bad luck, but in almost 20 stays at the DR, I've never heard any gringos go into details about love gone bad. Don't know what to tell ya |

Romulus, Has left the Room… but did he leave his $100 for the Couch Lady?? Glad I didn’t piss on his parade.. Just kidding Brother!! ![]() What I learned most on my first trip to Costa Rica was the term “Pura Vidaâ€.. Pure Life. Coming from the States I was so stressed and uptight that when I was in CR everyone kept reminding me of those words “Pura Vidaâ€â€¦ I found that the true meaning for me was to Not let others Piss me Off, and Don’t Stress out over the little things that would typically set me off in the States, and take Everyday One Day at a Time… Sorta like saying Chill… Nothing can be important enough to take away this feeling of Tranquility and Love…. “Pura Vida†Sorry to hear that some guys have gotten under your skin and hope that the feeling of Tranquility Comes back to ya soon…. Better yet Score a Couple of Ticas and Check back with us in the Morning! “Pura Vida†mi amigo… ![]() PS: I met you briefly back in April and seemed that you were having a good time then... I introduced you to VB who didn't believe what your Biz Background was... We all got a good laugh over it and I hope that All is Good! JB |

Diablo maybe I'm just unlucky in this respect. Maybe I come across as a therapist or something....I wish I didn't have to post this thread but then again I am fed up with the bitching and complaining. |

YO Romulus: Bitching and complaining about private lives are universal any time you frequent bars, etc. There are a lot of Chicas doing the same thing along with trying to gain favor or dinero from gringos as you well know. Lord, you have not really gotten depressed until your misfortune of running into old Circus. Then you would horridly see what over 40 years of mongering, drinking, gambling and outrageous behavior can do to a person. Talk about depressing..... |

I am lass than 3 weeks away from my "getaway" to C.R. and the absolute LAST thing on my mind are my "problems" that I'm leaving behind here in the States for a week or so. I'm just WAY too pumped up about the expected fun I'm going to be having as soon as I get off the plane in San Jose. |

I have to agree that it makes no sense why gringos would come to CR and moan about their ex-gringas in the states. That is the reason many of us come to CR to experience something different and get away from all the problems in the states. How about a new service at the Del Rey called the GRINGO CRYING TOWEL CLUB? Vegas Bob can send them over to a special table relagated to winers. Sure to be a big hit. |

King Costa Good idea. How about a "Crying, bitching and moaning about my ex" tax where the person who starts whining and bitching has to buy everyone at the table a drink??! That may shut them up....probably not but at least we would get drunk and listening to them won't be as painful... |

Personally Its probably not my place to interject something here, but to be honest, If A guys wants to bitch and moan in a bar then go find his tonic of a hot tica or chica that is his business..... If you don't want to listen to him, Dont get up leave..... |

Hi Admin 1 Thats exactly what I have done everytime--get up and leave. Its too bad cuz I want to talk to the other guys in the group but have to bail cuz of some guy who wants to groan about his ex. |

I'm just back from my first trip and I have to agree I was hard pressed to steer conversation away from those stories at times. I also get tired of hearing about how much money some guy has/makes/spends. :/ All the more reason to improve my spanish for next time ![]() |

I'm with RealManK. I don't come to CRT to read the bitching and whining. Romulas, you're an adult, handle the situation like one instead of crying to the rest of us. Maybe you've had those chicas sitting on your face just a little too long and cutting off your oxygen. |

Let em bitch. I live my life looking forward to tomorrow, getting the most out of today and forgetting about yesterday. Ever notice how bad luck and trouble always finds these guys? If it's not an ex, its something else. I'm glad these guys are there. If it bothers you, imagine how the chica's feel. Ever notice how the ladies attach themselves to a guy who can make them laugh and smile? I do. Oh, and the guys who try and impress with how much they make/spend/own. If life has taught me one thing, it's the more one talks about it, the less they have. Amatuers make excuses, professionals get the job done. Papa Nut |
