Any body have any any recent info about El Pubelo, I was looking for specific info about Club Infinto or Coco Loco, crowd type, music played safety issues. Prices etc. Info I've found on the internet is dated ,most recently from 09. I have trust issues with ticoparty.com I think it has dated info also.

Infinito has been closed for years. It is now some hip-hop spot. Place is ok to see lots of tail, but there are issues quite often with security. They have since cleaned it up a bunch, but I have been around for shootings, stabbings, gang fights and all kinds o shit. I think it is much safer now, but just keep your head up and chill you should be good. I have not heard of anything recently, except the security pepper spraying people a little too often... But that is better than getting shot or stabbed I guess.....

I never go to the place
Why... I will stick out way to much... I do not stay out very late often
This is a Tico place... I have been told stories of gringos going and having a good time (age is not a factor )

BTW a tico was killed there 3 weeks ago, got mixed up in a fight and got capped in in a case of mis- idenety.... It was in Teja ..... must be true

I like to go to tico places, but El Publo is not one of them

If you want to go ... , just know that the place is prone to shit going down, with out a gringo being around... and that is my point, why go to a place known for ticos start shit with themselfs.... Go with that in mind...

Come on Nhhank you only live once and you're still too young to join the old fogey club had some good times @ El Pueblo back in the day (5+ yrs. ago) with a group or just a date, never a second look from locals... but a few bad incidents have happened since then and some chicas will say it's peligroso.

Thanks to all for the info, I was thinking of places for a mixed group of friends could go and party and dance. I will tell them to just go to Castros, much safer, better atmosphere.

I try to go with a few working girls on every trip .....a few trips back a working girl out of the DR says 'micheal let's go dancing " means I pay for covers and drinks but she is fun and hot !! anyway she asks can I bring my friend ..tico girl about 6ft tall ....I say ok but for every drink I buy her ...she must grab my C*ck she agrees ...I had a blast ....dancing with both of them and ...tico girls coming after me ....didnt see much of "why is this gringo here " from the tico's in the clubs
We were on again last month ...told her to meet me at DR on sat at 10 ....(seen her there around 6pm ) I told her to get a few gringo/s so I dont have to buy all the drinks ...when I came back she was no where to be found ...and wont answer the phone ?

El pueblo has cleaned up some over the years. I have been there dozens of times in the last twelve years I have lived here and the fight nights come less often than they used to, but I am just saying keep your nose clean around there and you should be ok......The fights to happen...... I have been there for shootings and even once when they kidnapped a gringo guy in the parking lot like 7 or 8 years ago,.......

Well i have gone many of times. THere has been times where it wasn't all that, and there were times where i had a ball. I usually like to go and have some drinks in the little side bars that you will find in the maze. They're usually cheap drinks, and sometimes you can find some girls in there doing the same as i am doing. I'll usually walk around and feel the vibe in each bar/club. THe bouncer will more than likely let you in to see if you want to stay or not.
I like to stand out in the middle of all the action, there is a open spot outside, kind of in the middle of all the bars where you can see potential victims walking in and out of different places. I've found some hotties out there, and just followed them in the bar and asked 'em if they wanted a drink or dance. I've pulled out of there a few times, however, it's not a guarantee. The dude that said "if you can't pull in the pueblo" has some serious issues. YOU can't always pull in there, it's hit or miss. I mean there are girls in there you can take home for a price, but i'm talking about going home with a real non working type. I've been more apt to pull when i'm in there alone, then when i am with my gringo buddies. I'm Costa Rican, speak spanish fluently, and am not that bad looking, and i've walked out of there with nothing and on my way to the Rey. Although, i have been pretty lucky when it comes to pulling out of there. I'm not shy when it comes to approaching women. I'm looking foward to going out there in a few months. The longer you're away from San Jose, the more you want to go back. Although i did spend 3 weeks there last year during Xmas, and it was boring. I just plain and simple got bored. I'll be comingn in around Feb-March time frame this time, cocked and loaded!

That's fine; been there myself, and have never found it particularly dangerous - however the place is really a late night venue and I don't like to start my evening at midnight - just sayin'

Before you go - reread Hanks post - very god advice, and I'll offer some more, certainly not directed at you personally:

El Pueblo is the wrong place to be a loud, obnoxious, stupid, drunk gringo - if this describes your general demeneor when out socially, stay away. Seriously.

I first went to El Pueblo in 2004 and visited a few more times until 2007 with and without company. I enjoyed the place more when a tica accompanied me. Even though I've heard about the shootings (and other violence) through the media and word of mouth, I never witnessed any of it. The place would get crowded, but everyone seemed to be cool.
