Before I get chastised for posting in the wrong category, I believe this may be the best category to seek travel advice. I have only been to CR twice with the last trip in 1999. Since I am in Houston often, I would like to make a brief 1-3 day trip to the land of leche and honeys. When is the cheapest time of the week and year to travel to CR? I am looking only to please peter and as much as possible. I don't care if it's raining full time, or 140 degrees. I am not taking a trip to fish, gamble, zip line, fall in lust, drink, surf, atv, or watch sports. I am looking only to please peter on a very short trip. Can anyone help a brother out? Much appreciated! Elevator |

The best time is now because it's rainy season and the hotels, food and flights should be cheaper. IMO |

The hotels and the food may be cheaper... but not the flights unless they are booked about two-three months in advance, use FF miles, or one is lucky enough to catch a special. But those are not often found in-out of the main hubs. |

I'd rather save all that money and give myself a handjob. ![]() |

See if you can find a way to be in Austin for your departure. Tickets from Austin are over $100 cheaper. I'm lucky that I have customers there my company will pay me to visit the week leading up to my trip. Go figure though, thebflight still goes through Houston. I wonder if Continental would let me buy the Austin ticket, but only catch th second leg of the flight from Houston. That would save me the 2 hr drive home when I get back. |

Some years back you could, but w/ "paperless" tickets (and increasing airline rules intent on screwing you ![]() Still, you could check w/ the airline but I think my info may be correct - also - Srlim, our CRT airtravel guru ![]() |

There are two factors . Airfare and room rate ...everything else remains the same all year long sportsman and la amistad have cheap rooms specials like 50 per night airfare from Houston can be under 400 so there ya go three day weekend for $600 BUT the real gauge is how much pu*sy does Peter poke? That's where the money goes ...don't go around any American holidays the airfare is high. Peter will probably cost more then air and hotel together maybe you should leave him home.. ![]() |
