Thursdays departure will only be my second trip so sorry for the rookie question. I've been reading about how one shouldn't bring 100's to exchange. I don't recall having any difficulty exchanging them in the Dunn Inn or Del Rey last time. This trip I'll be staying at the Sportsmen's Lodge. So, you veterans, will I have any trouble exchanging 100s in San Jose? I imagine I would just exchange GHEM at the SL or DR. I don't cRe about a percent or two difference...I just want to make sure they will be readily accepted... Thanks!! Red |

Will be accepted at banks, most hotels, tour operators etc. They and $50.00 bills will not be accepted by many merchants in fact some smaller places will not accept $20's. |

Advice is bring 20's or save the 100's for Tln's if that's what you're into SR Or, as you will be exchanging money anyway, go to the bank (not the Currency Exchange(s)) upstairs in departures and exchange your 100's (or at least a few hundred) for colonies there - you get the best rates generally at a bank, then you don't have the potential hassles - at the same time you are changing money, purchase your exit visa - 2 tasks done, and 2 less (potential) hassles to deal with. Like you, I'm not concerned w/ a few colonies less when changing dollars - but sometimes you can't exchange for the amount you wish at your hotel, for example, or they don't have the smaller bill which come in handy. As SR says, also bring some $1's, $5's, $10's and $20's (I always bring 50 in 1's and 5's) - smaller bills can work better than larger ones ![]() |
