last time in CR, I visited a town called San Antonio. It seem nice, relatively close to SJ with less air polution. Is this a good place to live ?

I believe you are referring to San Antonio de Escazu. It is not a town but rather a part of Escazu. Like most places in CR it has good areas and and some not so good areas and some good points and not so good points. You have to list the things that are important to you in where you want to live and then investigate thoroughly if a particular area meets enough of that criteria that you would be comfortable living there. Keep in mind that after 6 months or so you may find your initial check list was either flawed or your wants/needs have changed and you will move on to another place.

No matter where you live in CR you can't wander around with you eyes closed and your pants down. Even the "best" areas are walking distance from the worst areas.
