Better jump on board and get this card. 50k miles after the 1st charge and another 50K after you spend $2500 within 3 months!! http://www.britishairways.com/travel/cr ... blic/en_us |

I think I can shed a bit of light on this…  Got my card last year, and yes, you will get 100K for future travel purchases. So, in essence, you’re getting two RT tickets to Europe at 50K each.  Sounds awesome…That’s why I enrolled.  Now for the reality…  All flight originating in the US stop in London for connections. The problem here is that there are three airports used by BA in London; Heathrow, Gatwick and London City. If your connection lands in either Gatwick or London City, it is your responsibility to get from those airports to Heathrow where planes to and from the US will land. (No easy feat during rush hour traffic.)  Another issue with this card is that there are very few travel days open using these reward miles. For example, I can fly outbound to Amsterdam from LA in June, but there is no return flight available until the end of July…and nothing, either way is available in August. October is the first month when both outbound and inbound flights are available in the same month. (November is Cannabis Cup…hmmmm…sorry, I digress.)  Additional fees are a big hit with this program. The trip to Amsterdam that I mentioned above will charge me $388 in taxes and fees.  So, the bottom line is that you’re getting a RT ticket to Europe for less than $400 if you can work within their limited travel dates.  Hope this information is useful.  Salud! -sport   |

First and most importantly you can use the milage with any of the http://www.oneworld.com/ow/member-airlines partners. This means you do not limit yourself to only european travel. Point and fact; I used the 100k miles to fly Cathay Pacific (not British Airways) LAX-MNL-BKK-LAX Business Class ( $5000 ticket if purchased) two months ago. I had no problem with the date I chose to go on. Bottom line this is the best credit card deal that has ever appeared, however the time to sign up has expired. I reapplied and got another one! Off to asia Business Class again next year for me ![]() |

Thanks hunter. I wasn't aware that I could use Oneworld to redeem my BA miles. Just curious, how much were the fees for your BKK trip? Nastarovia! -sport |

Off to asia Business Class again next year for me ![]() I'd looked at some dates earlier in the year to travel around Thanksgiving from LAX or JFK to BKK with some stopovers in HKG, and HND or NRT on Cathay Pacific Business Class. Some of the JFK routes got up to around $9000 or just 100k BA miles + around $400 in taxes and fees. I guess I waited too long as now the routes showing up for LAX to BKK are going through London on BA metal. So I started playing with some dates to South America on LAN. I'd have to figure out how many days I'd want to spend at each stop but so far finding some Miami-Lima-Santiago-Easter Island-Buenos Aires-Miami routes on LAN Business class for $76.16 in taxes and fees using 80000 BA miles. |

Another thing if you have miles on multiple carriers is to check and compare how many miles you need from each carrier as they may be different. For example, going LAX- BKK using AA miles you need 110K miles where using BA miles you only need 100K….both One World Alliance partners. Go Figure. ![]() |

I have been going to CR every year for the last 5 years on free miles courtesy of either AA Advantage or BA. Unfortunately they have changed the rules to 1st time applicants now, but I still have 50k miles left. Next card will be Continental or delta. The flyer talk forums or slickdeals.net (hot deals forum) are the place to find these deals. |
