Hey guys, I'm coming down again in a few weeks and I know a lot on this board dont play hoops, but I'm looking to get into a full court game while I'm in town or at least shoot around. Anyone know of any gyms that have a court? If not, any outdoor courts? Thanks.

La Sabana Park is probably your best best...

You are used to playing with nets? You must be from the suburbs. :P In the city, the only swoosh sound we heard was in our imagination. And the look on the guy's face who was guarding you, knowing you just "swooshed" a jumper in his mug. We never had nets, they would always be stolen, so the Parks Dept stop putting them up. I never understood why some hoodlum would steal a phucking basketball net. It's not like he had a court in his backyard and needed a net. MF's just stole them for the fun of it. They would be better of stealing some books and reading.

only court I have seen is the back way the taxi driver takes you on the trip back to the airport ....its either empty or has 20 K*ds playing on it (never playing basketball) no net and I think only one hoop ......my guess if you want to play ...stop in one of the shoe stores on central or the mall and one of the 1000 young tica's working where you could play .....or make a day of it and go to the college .....I would think they have some courts there. ( Bill at the sportmens might know as well ...)

The UCR has a big place for sports on the road to Sabanilla, been a while since I have been in there but I am pretty sure they have basketball courts. There are plenty of parks with courts, no nets, but you'll need to get out of downtown.

+1 Sabana Park north side next to tennis courts.

Outdoors, however the most consistant game in town. Get there by 11:30 teams chosen and game starts around 12:00pm weekdays. Weekends earlier.

Thanks for the replies guys. Are there any indoor courts at all? Even if you pay for a days use?

Now why would you want to play basketball in CR?
I am sure you can pay someone in the USA to let you win once in a while.
There are better places to dunk your balls in CR than a netted metal hoop.

Just something to do my friend during my downtime, plus I little bit of exercise. As far as paying people to let me win, I'm hoping the fact I was all-state back in high school will not require that, lol.
