Yes, this is actually happening right in KC's back yard. The monger is an acquaintance of mine. MONGER PROFILE White Male, divorced, grown Ch*ldren, 40 something, high school education, small business owner, mongering experience about a year and a half, trips to CR about 4 or 5. CHICA PROFILE 20 Something, Nicaraguan, 1 Ch*ld, experience in the DR 10 months, Managed to save over $12,000 during her work. DATE OF WEDDING October 2004 in Nicaragua. MARRIAGE CONDITIONS Prenuptual Agreement I thought that this would be a very interesting "reality CRT story" to have an update every 4 months or so on how the marriage is going. I live in an area that does not have a lot of hispanics which concerns (I am going to call him "Marriage Monger") him. He has money but is not wealthy. I would like to develop a questionnaire to interview him in the future. Please submit questions you would be interested in seeing the answers to. Despite Astro labeling me as a cynic, I wish Marriage Monger the best and hope everything works out for him. Chica is no longer working in the DR but back in Nicaragua awaiting Marriage Monger. |

Will he still have to pay her for sex, or at least get some type of discount? |

Muy interesante KC, So she will be moving to the states to start her new life, the adjustment and being away from her familia will be the big obstacle, will she be happy here? Seeing that she saved 12k, she must have a pretty good head on her shoulders. I wish Marriage Monger and Bride of Monger the best also. Here's a few to start: Did he meet her at the BM? Does she speak English? How long before she can actually move here? Will she have a job or be a housewife? Did she have the typical DR chica compulsion to lie about little things (and big things) for no reason? Did he go to CR to just have fun or was he on the rebound from his divorce and looking for a relationship/wife? Did he send her dinero "not to work" while he was back in US? |

Hey Paco mi amigo... como estas. 1. Yes, he met her at the BM 2. She speaks English 3. He had been working on her visa and he told me she will be here soon 4. Don't know about the lying for no reason. I am really going to look at this objectively. Although I can't say I know him really well, he appears very generous by nature. He lives not more than 5 minutes from me. Should be interesting to follow this. Like I said, I am not waiting for a car wreck here, I wish him the best. |

Paco I would say he just went to CR for fun and fishing. Did not appear to be on the rebound. Of course he is sending money to the family already. He has a decent income here although not wealthy. I'm going to keep in touch with him. |

Where he met her isn't so important if he's taken the time to really get to know her. People do desperate things in order to survive. I believe the majority of girls would prefer to NOT have to work "on the program" but they are often poor and have a Ch*ld (or two) to support as well as a sick mother or father. Tell him to be prepared for a range of "experiences" like he's never imagined. The differences are many: 1. Culture - they just don't always see things the way we do. 2. Native language- will she continue to improve her English? 3. Family relationship - like you said, he's already "helping out". That will NEVER end. Birthdays, anniversaries, 1st communions, holidays, illness, operations, births, deaths. The list goes on and on. Plus the phone calls and the general desire to help raise the family's standard of living. Some girls feel guilty about living the good life while the family is still struggling to survive. 4. Religion, especially if he's not Catholic. 5. AGE!!! Yes, it will make a difference because the greater the difference in age the greater the difference in philosophy about many subjects. 6. Education and/or intellect. Yes, the sex can be hot and heavy at first but sometime he might actually want to TALK to her. 7. Does she want more Ch*ldren? Does he? 8. I recommend a full medical work-up. It will be cheaper in her home country and might help identify any potential problems later. The new found freedom and having REAL MONEY (not to mention credit cards) can be very intoxicating for a girl from a poor family in the third world. Plus the constant desire to help her family is like another regular money drain. Anything can work if both parties work at it but I hope he has considered the long-term ramifications. |

Wheaty: How's it going bro? I do not know the chica in question but I might recognize her. Mighty1 ....... Wedding will be in Managua .. much cheaper than the DR. I am a little worried when she starts to see cien notes.. just natural for a DR chica. I figure if the whole thing doesn't work out, I might be able to start a BM chapter up here. Whitling... I agree with everything you say. |

Post subject: | Hey Wit, |
Up here in Vegas, the population has grown to 35% Hispanic or Mexican. They are living 4-6 to a household (or more) in order to afford the median new house price of $305k. Its still booming here and I expect it to be about 1/2 Hispanic in the next 10 yrs or so. Simply mind boggling. Look forward to meet some of you in Dec 2-9. She will have lots of opportunities to spend, spend, spend. As always, I wish him and anyone the very best, but he does have a tough road ahead. 3pbillygoat |

I concur with Witling. Excellent points! Most chicas become 'Americanized' in a relatively short time, perhaps three to six months. I think most chicas have a preconceived notion that all Gringos are wealthy and that we can have anything we want materially. It's actually relative. We are wealthy compared to them. They don't realize the actual situation(s) many Gringos are in. They don't realize or understand the large amount of debt/obligations many Gringos have. Many Gringos are forced to pay a large amount in alimony payments and/or Ch*ld support payments for example. They only see us when we are in CR on vacation (or occasionally business) spending money like we have it 'to burn'. They have no idea of the exorbitant cost of health care in the US, or of the unemployment issues many of us have had to deal with. |

King As him if he still has to wear a condom. Also I would like to know who is cleaning the Casa. Also will she have the opportunity to learn the banking system here? If she does he's dead. PhillyRookie |
