What is the difference between Broadband and CDMA? I have a Sprint Sierra Wireless Br oadband Air card for my Notebook Computer, and when I boot up I am asked if I want to connect using broadband or cdma? Which is better? What should I answer? Thank you.
Broadband. CDMA is the channel access method used by sprint for normal cellphone usage. I assume that connecting over CDMA would be quite slow, since that is not really designed for internet/data usage. Sprint is the only major company left using CDMA, fine if most of your usage is in the USA. Everybody else and their brother (with a few exceptions) is using the GSM standard.

Yes, with Verizon being still mostly stuck in the CDMA world, and having few GSM phones. I have a Motorola Droid and am thinking of switching to a Motorola Droid 2 since it is GSM. But I may just wait till I get to CR and explore my options. If the new telecommunications firms moving in on ICE are going to offer decent data and phone packages, I will buy a GSM smartphone here in the states and see if I can't use it with a CR sim card/smartphone plan. I like the Droid 2 but if I sign up with Verizon, I'm stuck paying big time for calls from CR back to the states.
