Does anybody know what would a basic phone (Maybe a Nokia or Moto) cost in one of the electronic stores in San Jose? I need to buy 2 basic ones but I'm not seeing any good deals on Ebay.

Two weeks ago, I bought a Nokia 1616 for 32,000 colon at the phone store at Multiplaza in Escazu.

If you are in the food court walk toward Zara , take a left at the Nike store. The phone store is about 4 stores down on the left.

This Nokia works in places my girlfriend's Iphone wont.

The best place to get a cell phone is 25 meters west of Morazan Park on Ave 3. On the left side going west. There is a Neon sign " Internet Calls" above the sidewalk. The phone store is just before th sign. Frankie is the owner an American. They have Nokia and Motorola for 25000. Buy the prepaid sim card for 5000 colons. prepaid Card there is no charge for incoming calls.
I bought a motorola 6 months ago. I call the states on it for 25 cents a minutes and receive lots of calls from the states that are all clear and not delayed. If you make long calls to the states go to an internet store most are 10 cents a minute.
You can buy more time at Frankies store or at the Super market. Take your passport or at least a copy. Frankie will get you a phone, sim card and phone number and you will be in business in ten minutes. Tell him Richard sent you an he will give you a good price.
