I sitting here watching the local news and seeing the Canadian Military sending in SAR Techs to rescue drivers stuck on the 402 highway. 10 degrees sounds like paradise to me. And I am sure I can find something to do to keep warm!

Just a few weeks to go before I am down there again!

Cerro Chirripo is the highest point in Costa Rica at 12,533 feet. It is also the coldest, boasting the lowest temperature ever registered in this country, a bone chilling 16° F The 10C degrees in San Jose must be a record low as I could not find anything that cold on my search. What was the temperature up in the mountains of San Antonio de Escazu? Anyone? Here in Fort Myers they forecasting 28 degrees tonight with a wind chill in the teens.

Jesus! 16° F the coldest? The coldest place I have ever been was Nanisivik, Northwest Territories in Canada back around '94. With the wind chill, it was -76° C. I have a scar on my arm where I touched bare metal when reaching up to cover an engine on the aircraft I was taking care of. It was so cold, the Caterpillar loaders that offloaded our aircraft had been running for over 20 days non-stop and they had to change some tires because the rubber shattered when hitting bumps.

LOL, 16 years in my trade and over 7 of it was spent north of 60. I used to ride my motorcycles in the early spring with just a t-shirt and the other riders were all like "WTF?!" as they had heated vests and full leathers :) I've had enough though. That's one of the reasons I keep coming back to places like CR... my body needs the warmth! As long as I can watch Hockey on TV, I can live with never seeing snow again in my life.

And it isn't gonna end anytime soon (the cold, I mean). Commiserations to all the Deep South Brothers and those in the Northern Tier as well. We're miserable in the Middle Atlantic but nothing like you guys.

Wow, what a morning! It's sunny as hell and already 68 degrees at 9:00am, looking for a high around 80, just like yesterday. Just enough breeze to stir the leaves (yes, we still have leaves).

Greetings from SJO...looks like the dry season may finally begin! :D

Today's high in San Jose, 84 gorgeous degrees. If this keeps up it will be a great weekend to sit on Central and watch the shoppers go by.
