This is an open letter to Admin, with all due respect. Picture Resizing. This is a relatively popular site, last count of members I remember reading, was over 20,000. I don't know what technical details are involved. On Facebook or MySpace, you click and send a pic. It's clear to me if guy's could send photos without going through all the resizing hassle, there would be an explosion of posted pics. I just want to understand why this cant be done. Sincerely, Brother SpeakNo |

And not being a hard ass, but it takes absolutely NO TIME or hassle whatsoever to downsize a photo to meet upload specifications on this site. Not only is all the software included in every version of Windows / MAC operating systems, there are a ton of other software out there free to download to batch downsize etc. We are not talking brain surgery here. Our design is not nor many sites designed kin to Facebook where you can upload 5MB photos etc. Do you have any idea how long each photo would take to open if they were all uploaded in their originally file sizes. The speed and effectiveness of our gallery is that all photos are downsized. Try viewings someones photo gallery on a social network where all their photos are 5mB it takes 20 seconds between pictures. Not to mention the strain on servers etc. FB is worth what a billion dollars.. I think they can afford that type of level of service etc. Bottom line most persons shoot photos on their cameras in resolution that far exceeds anything they will ever need for Internet use. Unless your going to print the photos later there is no need for the original file size and downloading to fit our specs is a 2 second operation. I even offer to have them SEND ME THE PHOTOS I email them back downsized for posting, can't make it any easier than that. |

SpeakNo, just set your camera to 640x480, problem solved, don't need more than that for display on the web anyway. ![]() |
