Post subject: | Old Monger - New Costa Rica |
I recently joined the VIP part of CRT and it has been a wealth of info. I am a 57 yr old fart, but have been a monger for about 30 yrs. Finally going to take the plunge to CR this Dec. 2 -10. Live in Vegas and mostly do the SW's, since I really can't handle the thought of 3 bills for one hr. with some of those overpriced wannabe's on the strip. Negotiation will not be a problem with me, as I ALWAYS do with the ladies here. But I imagine my jaw will drop a time or two with so many fine lookers in one place at one time. That part I'm not used to. Somehow, I'll just have to try and manage. My plan is tour the volcano(s) or the rainforest in the day, and enjoy the much more important things en la noche. My Spanish is OK, but I've been working on the conversation part even more with the Tranparent Language program. No offense to the other boards, but this board has more info and seems much more user friendly for new or old hands and seems more intent on making sure we have a great time and show the ladies the respect they deserve. I look forward to meeting some of you fine folks and definitely picking up some tips. |

3pkrdbillygoat, Welcome to CRT. At 57 I would say you're just a few years above the average age of the membership. The Latin ladies are very flexible on age. Everything you said is exactly true. From the class of guys on CRT to the overwhelming choices of young ladies in San Jose it truly is a wonderful experience. Be prepared for the tours. They are fun and well worth it but they are all-day adventures. They leave early so you need to get at least SOME sleep before you go. Be sure and coordinate your pick-up location when you make your reservation. I signed up for a white water rafting trip at the Del Rey and the girl told me they would pick me up there at 6:30AM. I waited until almost 7:00 before they showed up. They had been looking for me at the Presidente where I was staying. Have a great trip. PURA VIDA! Wit |

Don't get the idea that you are going to be the elder statesman among the senior citizens here. I'm 67, been in the hobby for almost 50 years, and am just now planning my first trip to the land of chicas and volcanos. Enjoy |

I went to CR for a week to celebrate my 50th birthday.... 15 years ago! Finally got back 2 months ago after a marriage to a young Colombiana came to an end. I have been in Miami for 18 years and figured out the smart thing to do was learn spanish.... man it has paid off! When I was there 15 years ago I stayed at the Park Hotel which was a great place back then. Hung out at the Happy Days bar which was where the Key Largo has expanded south. Only places I recognised this last trip was the Nashville South and the New York Bar.... and the Park is still there but from reading the boards it appears to have gone down hill. I retire next month and plan to move to CR in January, 2005, and hope to meet the other mongers on here. |

Welcome to the board, I also am 57 but don't consider myself on the downhill side of the average monger's age. To the best of my recollection I haven't ever had sex with a female over the age of 35 at the time of the act. It's young chicas and good cerveza that keep us going strong. I made my first trip to CR Labor Day week 2003 and have been back 7 times since. Should get in 2 more trips before 2004 ends. You will love it and become addicted. Pura Vida Goetz |
