Post subject:  WARNING! Newbies Beware!

The CR Surgeon General has determined that partaking of activities discussed on this forum may be detrimental to your sanity.
A recent study at DelRey University has discovered that traveling to the gulch, attending Blue Marlin Happy Hours and "fishing" with twisted CRT members is not all the fun and games it's cracked up to be, there is a dark side. Be aware that you will never be normal again. If you've stumbled upon this forum and haven't made a trip yet- Don't do it. Do yourself a favor and forget you ever saw this site, or be prepared to suffer dire consequences.

CRT Post-trip disorders include but not limited to the following obsessive/compulsive behavorial symptoms:
Inability to focus on work, perpetual daydreaming about a far-away place.
Nightly dreams about certain bars and young women also common with occasional blurting out of spanish phrases like "No cien" and "Sin condón" during sleep.
Insisting your signifigant other shave her pubey hair.
A new attitude towards most American women, your close friends may think you've turned gay due to your lack of interest.
Dating gringas will now seem to be a waste of perfectly good money.
Sudden attraction to all women in their early 20's.
Realization that white women have too much power, snotty attitudes and really can't dance.
Compulsion to check internet daily for cheap airfares, and updates from the current group of deviants in the Gulch.
Checking to see if condoms and KYJelly are on sale every time you pass the display at Wal-mart or grocery store.
Listening to nothing but Spanish learning CD's in the car.
Staying home on weekends to save money for next fix. (trip)
Bringing colones back to USA so you'll have an excuse to go back.
Gaining a new circle of mysterious friends that share a common sick sense of humor, and secret code names like: Latinoheat, KingCosta, Showerhead, Bulldog, Astro, Gman, Dallasman, Tman, VegasBob or PhillyRookie. (Loved ones will be convinced you have either become a secret agent or joined the mafia.)
Attempting to convince your accountant those 4-15 trips to Central America last year were all business related.
Instant erections anytime you hear a young woman speak spanish.
You will have no problem eating some type of chicken-dish for lunch and dinner 7 days in a row.
Skymiles will become more valuable to you than your Ch*ldren.
You decide your 401k contributions and sick/personal days could be put to much better use with your new "live for today" attitude.
Although never needed before, you suddenly have a stockpile of various erectile-dysfunction drugs on hand.
One hundred dollars for anything seems like too much money.
The term blue-balls has new meaning in your life.

Paco: You are so right, and I am suffering from the same illness. It seems to me that everyday I see some cute Latina. I can't stop thinking that if she only were in CR should be be completely available to me. Here...no way.

Hello, my name is Dapanz and I am addicted to Costa Rica. (The crowd responds, "Hello, Dapanz and welcome.") Yup, I need to be admitted as well.
BTW..where is that book I was reading about 12 step programs? Hmm..could come in handy real soon.
Not much longer and paradise will be my reality.

Paco you are so wrong. I for one, suffer from none of these symptoms.....O.K O.K. Is this what they call denial? :? Wake me up when it is Xmas time. Oh, did you mention logging into this site every 10 minutes to see if there are any updates :)

Great post PacoLoco!

At first, I thought I was reading a joke. But upon further consideration, I realized that I REALLY DO suffer from every symptom listed.

Thanks for helping me understand my disorientation.

Hang in there PocoLoco, based on your symptons the diagnosis of your illness is apparent. You have post-tramatic cr disease. Paco don't worry too much, it isn't life threatening and symptomatic relief is available. For immediate relief, get on the next flight to cr. The only problem is the symptons recur upon return to the states.

It is terminal and the only solution available is a return trip to Costa Rica.Of course as mentioned before symptoms recur upon return to the ground in the U.S. or outher places.Sure it hits guys in Canada and Europe as well. The symptoms may actually return upon Lift off from Costa Rica.Living there could be the only cure.I sure would like to try it as soon as I can afford it.Paco it is such a true post.O know I'm rambling but may be anouther of the symptoms.rbc100

Yes, I got that one> Compulsion to check internet daily for cheap airfares, and updates from the current group of deviants in the Gulch.

And as far as you having no symptoms Latinoheat, I came up with this list after talking to YOU last week. :P
But don't worry, owning your denial and admitting the problem is the first step to recovery.

And I've read it so many times before- the only relief is to plan the next trip south... Get a ticket in hand and a room reserved and life will have meaning again. I'm off to check airfares...

Post subject:  Recovery

Who wants to recover? I only want it to be an extremely long drawn out illness with pulling the plug only authorized when the pud can't be pulled anymore. I'd rather be a good liver than have one.
Pura Vida,

Goetz
