Interesting, but I wonder about the accuracy. Only 48% of the people in Ireland are Irish? And O'Brien didn't even register there, though Argentina did. Hmmm.

Yeah it's in its infancy and only lists 26 countries and relies on peoples honesty. Still a nice start though. I'm thinking that a lot of Europeans may have dual residency in other countries ect. That may be a reason for some of the odd places, although not always the case, that you find O'Brien's in other parts.

Was dead on for me. All my grandparents were born in Ireland. Plugging in my fathers surname and my mothers Ireland was number 1 on the list for both of them.

My surname came up only in the U.S. This is true since when the old farts got to Ellis Island they didn't like the original and gave them an Americanized name, with a part of which was a word formed in the U.S.

The city where the name is most prominent was the town that my father was born in. He had twelve brothers/sisters. My father was the only one to move to California, all the rest stayed in Ohio. I guess that their Ch*ldren multiplied greatly.

Virtually ever time someone reads my last name, they are amazed, and usually don't believe it. It has been a lifetime of, "How did you get that last name?" Just like virtually everyone else, it was passed down from my father!!!!!

Health & happiness to all................

In my case it was right on as well. All over France and a few in Belgium, then hear in the US and Canada. My sister recently had me do a DNA test for getting further back into family bloodline history and that was really wild. Turns out our next closest matches are in various parts of Italy, mainly Sicily, then all over the Mediterranean.

Funny thing--no data for what I'm sometimes called--"Scheiskopf". Just funnin"--my tribe sure got dispersed; on the run to the U. S. or "transported" to Australia.

And English rapacity. There was plenty of food in Ireland, it was just controlled and shipped out by the English aristocrat landlords, and thus my/our people starved, had to live in ditches after eviction, etc. etc. Now don't get me started about Black 47--I still get a bit nuts. No offense meant to present English Brothers, aristocrats or not--but we Celtics have very long memories, somewhat akin to Sicilians/Corsicans/ Catalans, and for quite the same reasons--being oppressed by overlords who didn't appreciate language/cultural differences but saw us as a net supplier of cheap labor and raw materials. Damn shame about Lord Mountbatten's boat though--it was swell and innocent.

Frank Zappa contended the mind was the UGLIEST part of your body. Can ugly be sexy? Jimmy Lee Swaggart thought so.
