I've stopped counting too. I put 11-20 as my best guess, as I know I've done at LEAST that many but it could easily extend into the 21-30 range.

I also agree with CptBob that it should be quality that counts not quantity (though I suspect he's mainly saying that because he's only been mongering in CR since 2007 and probably has relatively few trips there himself).

For one thing, one should also consider the DURATION of each trip and not just the simple number, although I suppose that is also a "quantity" measure too (of days). IMHO, there is a big difference between traveling to CR to spend a month or even a week or two and traveling to CR just for a long weekend, which is a trip length that probably comprises a lot (or even perhaps most) of the trips done by those who say they've been to CR more frequently. And personally speaking, someone having spent 50 or more weekends in SJ is not something that terribly impresses me. Let them try visiting for a month or more sometime (something at least a little more kin to actually living there).

Another possible measure that one could ask about that may be a better indicator of quality rather than quantity could be exactly what one accomplished on those trips. For some that measure could be the number of chicas banged on those trips. Again, I suppose that measure is still somewhat quantitative in scope unless one also qualified it with an adjective. For example, "how many really HOT looking chicas have you banged on your trips?" I think that would have been a far better question than the simplistic one that was actually asked because I've seen some guys going for some real dogs while in CR (like the ones at the NYB :P), which may boost their total chica count but isn't exactly something I think they should be bragging about.

Of course EITHER of those questions would only be a measure of quality if one's idea of quality was solely hardcore mongering. There are a LOT of guys who have a LOT of long weekend length trips under their belt, sometimes on a monthly basis, and typically those guys spend practically every second of those trips in the Gulch (or very nearby) in order to get in as much mongering as they possibly can in the relatively short time they've allowed. But, similar to banging ugly chicas, while that can be a great way to boost their total trip count, that wouldn't exactly be something that would cause me to consider them to be any sort of CR guru (any more than a post count makes anyone a Phd). I suppose those type of trips are perfectly fine if you're a hard core mongerer and, if you've done that 50 or more times, I suppose it might make you some sort of "expert" on CR (or rather CR mongering), but it would hardly be what I'd ever call real "quality".

And even if some of those trips lasted as long as a week or two but were still practically entirely spent in the Gulch mongering rather than actually going out to see the country (more than the occasional day trip out of SJ), I still wouldn't count that quantitative measure to be any indicator of true "quality". Nor would I think that would make that person any sort of CR guru (at least not in a general sense), though again I'd agree it might make them some sort of expert on CR MONGERING. Personally speaking again, as someone who is NOT a hardcore mongerer, I think a far more interesting question would have been "how many days have you spent in CR outside of the Gulch (by which I mean away from ANY of SJ's or Jaco's mongering venues)?"

Another possible factor:

How LONG have you been going to CR? I have only been going for a little more than 5 years. Someone who has been going for 20 years, even if it is only weekend trips, has probably gotten a better feel for the country and any changes that have taken place over that time.

SR

That's an excellent point. I've been going for 12 years, but consider myself somewhat of a novice compared to other individuals. For instance, my fellow Tampa Chapter member Royboy has been going for more than 20 years, and I know that a few members have been going since the 70's!

I was just trying to get an idea with the poll. But if quality is the issue how do you measure that?
But quality is definitely a big issue, I've had great trips and not so great trips.
