At least the girls got a running start now that they been warned. Those trannys should take up quite a bit of time to round up seeing as they got help from the tourist police who are routinely shaking down gringos that have a thing for those man girls in the Parques Morazon and Espana. Surely the Po Pos will tip the Trannys of the impending busts so that the Gringo mordidas will not be halted by the new sweeps? I hope that by the time they get to the whoors that the girls have initiated a new plan to thwart the activity of the chanchos! Who likes Trannys anyhoos? I see many of yous guys do! I read the article as cracking down on pubilc solicitation (streets and parks) not the businesses. Orange makes a valid point, in all the sweeps the last few years it seems like there have been no real arrests, few deportations and no businesses actually closed for any lenght of time, except the Zona Blue construction permit issue. One outsider's opinion only but--This is harassment of what's at least a quasi-legal activity and I expect it will increase and ramp up. Folks looking to make a point as the Rodent apparently is doing, don't go to the meat of the matter first--they pick on the low-hanging fruit first (no pun intended)--the fringe types, the despised, the marginalized--to build support for her program and to subtly undercut support for other targets later. In the classic model, she also needs to do something positive to strengthen her position like infrastructure projects or diesel-pollution control or cleaning up and beefing up Law Enforcement. That's how you build consensus and unassailiblity for whatever your agenda is later. It sure worked for Hitler. |
