how can this spanish phrase, "Tener el santo de espalads", ever be translated as meaning "to have bad luck? yet, that is what is printed in the CR A.M newspaper. I can't figure out what espalad means. |

"Tener el santo de espaldas". = To be cursed with bad luck. It's a Spanish idiom. Just like "'Él está salado" (He is salted) = which translates to "He got bad luck" |

I hope espalda translation issue is worked out. But, I’ve got to ask, is there a one word Spanish translation for the English word HORNY? |

So "ritmo caliente" works both ways--actually all 3 'cuz of those great Latin horn sections. I love this stuff! |

Close but no cigar. If you tell a girl “I’m hornyâ€â€¦â€¦ there is no doubt. Mi amor, estoy caliente…… this leaves some doubt ….. potential communication breakdown. “Estoy calienteâ€â€¦. Possible response: Turn on the air condition. Open a window. Take off that coat. But when you tell a girl (in English) you are horny….. there is no breakdown in communication…… sin duda. Sorry, nice try….. but caliente does not cover it. |

Nice try…. and most assuredly and potentially effective. Still….. too many words. In Brazilian Portuguese. ….. one can say “estou con tezao†which translates into……. I’m horny. No doubt, no confusion. Brief…… to the point. I realize that it is more than 2 words (I’m horny)…. But…… still no doubt and one can say it in stride…… without missing a step. Still looking for 3 words or less that leaves no doubt what you are communicating….. “I’m hornyâ€. Don’t think it exists in espanol. I hope I am surprised. |

Dude, you are making this harder than it needs to be. I just told you that "I'm horny" = Estoy excitado. I grew up and went to high school in Panama and know exactly what I am talking about! |
