I normally walk around town or take a taxi if I need to, but I have a little dilemma and searched, but couldnt seem to find the info I was looking for.

I have a friend that is coming into town on Sunday, only problem is his flight lands at 530 am. So I want to meet him at the airport and ride back to my place with him (which is in Aranjuez, a few blocks from LA). My question is, what buses run that early, where do they stop, and then how to make it back. Also, what do the buses normally cost to go to the airport and back?

Coming back the airport bus goes to Coca Cola which is afew blocks from the Mercado Central. I think the cost is about $1.50.

I am not sure where the bus going to the airport originates, probably the same

The buses that stop at the airport are the Alajuela buses that leave from avenida segunda near the Merced church (about calle 12). There are two companies, TUASA & SW. I am not sure what time they start in the morning. Caution: not all of them stop at the airport you have to ask to make sure the one you are boarding stops at the airport.

Just checked the bus schedule and they go to Alajuela-Aeropuerto leaving San Jose at 4:30 from Calle 12/14 Ave 2 at 4:30 and leaving from Avenue 2 costado norte de la Iglesia de la Merced at 4:40. They leave every 10 minutes in the morning.

About a year ago, it cost ¢540 and we took it from Ave 2 and about calle 12 or 14, about where Ave 2 begins as you make the turn off Paseo Colon.

Look for bus to Alajuela and ask if it stops at the airport, I think 1 does and 1 doesn't.

Look up the schedule here: http://thebusschedule.com/cr (Search San Jose to Alajuela)

Bus company: Tuasa 2222-5325

The TUASA buses depart from their terminal which is on Ave. 2 across from Parque Merced or calle 12/14. It's marked by a large open entry/exit through which the buses come and go. Note that there is another terminal next to TUASA's, make sure you get the right one. :D Also note that every morning one of the buses goes to Poas, it was at 8:30 the last time I used it.

Brother CLN20 says he is going to be doing this run on Sunday (Domingo). Doesn't that throw some stuff in the game, schedule-wise?

The bus to the airport (I just took it to and from the airport) was 240, but I was charged 480 because of luggage I suppose.
