So I love going to CR and I've always gone by myself. For the first time, I'm bringing a drinkin buddy down. He's a guy that's too nice to women and doesn't get laid as much as he'd like to. Great guy to hang out with and intelligently funny.

I'm trying to tell him, "I'm warning you. It could be incredibly addictive. It's not like drugs or clubbin. It's something you've never experienced before." I consider myself one of the best wingmen on the planet so I'll take care of my boy. However, I feel like a drug dealer. There's a slight bit of guilt that I feel about introducing him to this. A friend that we have in common said, "If anyone needs this trip he does. Believe me, you're doing him a favor."

Do you remember your first trip? I just remember the flight back and saying to myself, "I'm getting back her ASAP!" and knew I was addicted. I haven't gotten a lapdance in a year cuz it doens't mean anything to me anymore. I've been with more civilians in the last year than I have in the last 3. I wasn't a guy that couldn't get laid, I just couldn't get laid as much as I wanted. Its gonna be strange watching what happens to him.

It'll be like watching Neo wake up after taking the red pill. But in a positive way... ;)

From your description of him you are doing exactly the right thing. Just have to be careful that he understands it is a "fantasy" and he really is not in love with her or her with him. :P . That is the real danger for a somewhat sheltered newbie IMHO.

Agree totally with IrishDrifter. I've taken 3 newbies with me and all fell in love. They made big mistakes and wasted a lot of time & money. Still, it was worth it just to see the looks on their faces the first time they entered the BM for the first time.

Fortunately for me, the guy who introduced me to CR had prepared me well and when we got there, he almost slapped me into conciousness a few times so I didn't go over the edge!

Then, guess what? Two years later, THAT guy fell for a Columbiana and we ended up going to her native Pereira to visit her! He ended up taking care of her "sick" mother financially, plus a sister who was going thru a divorce, plus a niece who injured her leg, etc. etc. etc. I finally slapped some sense into HIM and he stopped the $ hemmorage.

Yikes!

LACowboy...how many times did you have to hit him? I brought my wingman last May down to SJO first time..we did it right..First stop, he visited Jenny at Relax...afterward, we went to IDEM across the street for beers..he went upstairs with some hottie (forget her name)..see, he is 23 and can do this sort of sh*t...afterward, we went to La Esquina de Buenos Aires to eat..then..to the Blue Marl*n..he only lasted two minutes in there and had to leave....sensory overload..gotta go now... Anyway, I didn't have to slap him into reality.

most of the guys that I have turned on to san jose are married , so what I tell them on the flight down is this trip is the easy one to get away with (fishing with the boys or golf) I always say "its the next trip that you will try to pull of is the tricky one" to both of their credit ...they both make it back with in 6 months !!!

I live for sitting in the DR and seeing a newb walk in, and you can just tell by the look on his face that his brain is going a million miles a minute and he has to comprehend whats going on in there. I have a few friends who say they're coming with me in october, and thats the reaction I'll be looking for.

I had a great time my first trip. But I'm also very glad I'm far from that now. Show him a good time BB, maybe he can talk you into extending your trip a few days  8)

CLN-

That's really entertainment. I still remember walking into HDR for the first time. I was checking in at around 11am. I remember how many women were wandering around in the lobby!!! It was 11am!!! I was truly flipping out and my head was on a swivel. I must have looked like a total newbie. This friend of mine has absolutly no idea.

I'll be down May 21st to 25th. If I extend the trip, you'll be the first to know Cujo...

I'm guilty. My first time I went I fell in love with Jeny at Idem. I've now been there 10 times in 3.5 years and had wonderful experiences. I saw Jeny on my last trip. I just gave her a wave and a smile. I now go with a wingman and we both realize that there is an experience of depression when you arrive home, that diminishes the more you go.

Agreed, the depression dissappates the more you go to CR. Although, I've always gone Thursday comeback Sunday, I'm going for an extra day in April and an extra 2 days LD. So I'm a little worried I'm gonna feel that depression harder than usual.

Glad you realized you're not supposed to fall in love. I feel bad for the guys that don't realize what's happening to them.

Cheers!

Oh the fantasy can be so much fun. Love is not it for me though. It is comfortable, plain and simple. Hotel, no K*ds, eating out. Young girl ready to go. Then back here. In one part of my brain I know. But in another it is one day at a time. And those days are hitting and holding. But, for me the money does run out. Still want to hit the lotto and not have to worry about money either. Pure fantasy till I die. What the Phuck is wrong with that?

Nothing wrong with enjoying the disneyland for guys... It also stung me after my first trip down a year ago as I knew I was coming back.

One thing I can say however is that I never really got that jaw drop moment the first time I walked into the Del Rey-blue marlin. There were some hotties, and I also remember thinking there was quite a lot of fake tetas but it's not like I was stupefied. I suppose if you roll in from somewhere that doesn't have any bars or clubs with latinas at all then ..maybe.
