What makes you think the guy involved was someone from this board? What makes you think the influence of this board extends much beyond the relatively small percentage of mongers who belong (just walk around the HDR some time survey guys to see how many have never even heard of CRT)? And even if these particular guys MAY have been CRTers, what makes you think that ALL the guys on this board are so good at practicing what they preach or following the consensus common-sense rules?
And, as has already been suggested, though at least one or possibly both of these girls probably is getting SOME sort of "special" support from one or possibly more guys, they still could be exaggerating or embellishing the degree of that support. Chicas have been known to lie or boast, not just with us in order "to raise the bar", but with both us and their fellow chicas in order to raise their STATUS.

Actually, I kind of agree with both, only I would say that, to the degree they really are getting free rent, car and spending money, they probably consider the "hooking day to day" to be the supplementary side income rather than the other way around.

Maybe some guys think the primary goal is "to get the most chicas for the least money possible", but personally I wouldn't characterize it quite that way. My goal is to get the best sessions possible (quality not quantity) without paying an unreasonable amount. Underpay by too much and it may reflect itself in how much effort the chica puts out (excepting, of course, the degree to which you established some rapporte). Overpay by too much and you won't necessarily get that much better service as much as you will be seen as some sort of chump who can be played for even more.
Should we care what other guys are doing or is it even any of our business? Perhaps not, but it can effect us in various ways. It might actually PARTIALLY succeed in what these guys are trying to do - take these girls off the market and out of the HDR/BM.
Well, at least perhaps for a time, until they start to get the itch again, or perhaps enables them to reduce their hours or the number of days per month/week they need to make their appearance. To that extent, it might deprive us of that particular girl or make her somewhat harder to find. Fortunately for us, I think for chicas to luck into this sort of living arrangement is still sort of like winning the lotto. For every chica who manages to do it, there are 10 or even 100 other chicas whipping off their RFM e-mails hoping to make that big score. The best that most of them ever acheive is to have some fools wire transfer them a couple of hundred dollars or so to help pay for their father's (abuela's, tio's, prima's, etc) 15th alleged kidney transplant.
What about raising that "raising the bar" comment? I don't really think that part is true. It may raise the bar in terms of what they may try to shoot for but these chicas know they're not going to get that lucky with every gringo or even most gringos. So they'll continue to settle for whatever they can get. For SOME chicas, because they don't have the same pressure of needing to come up with rent money, they might not settle for quite so little as they did before. For those chicas, they can much more easily afford to simply walk away if you balk at their "Cien para hora" amount. However, IMHO, for most I don't think there is ever enough dinero. However much these guys give them, most of these chicas will find ways to spend it, waste it, give it away to relatives. And lets not forget that these chicas can't depend on the gravy train lasting any longer than they remain young and sexually desirable. So whatever chicas aren't spending every colone they can scam from their novios, the few really smart ones know enough to bankroll and stash away as much as they can for that rainy day when they get dumped (or their gringo novios wise up and realize they've been cheating on them from practically day one). I also think for many chicas there becomes an addiction to the game. They crave the attention and adulation of so many guys, hanging out with their friends (who all still work in the HDR/BM). Perhaps, because they have a steady source of income, they don't have to settle for some token amount from the disgusting old fat guy with the halitosis, but if some well-groomed, funny and polite gringo comes along that they like, they'll still go with him. And if anything, that nice attractive guy will be able to get them for less precisely because someone else is already paying their bills.
Lastly, to the extent none of this really effects the rest of us, "If he's happy with paying the bills while she stays in CR and picks up other guys" why should we still care or think it is any of our business? Well it may not be any of our BUSINESS, but maybe we should CARE if the poor fool is being DUPED and is being made to THINK that he's paying to enable her to get out of the business of picking up other guys. And maybe we should care if this adds to the impression by chicas that us gringos CAN be duped and played that way.
