Happy New Year to the CRT Brotherhood,

I'm planning to make my fourth trip to CR in March. My flights comes in at 9:50 p.m., and I was curious to know if the exchange window upstairs is open at that late of an hour. Also, if there is any particular information of interest in arriving late night as opposed to daytime hours. Thanks

We get in at 7:15pm this Friday and I will check the hours for you. I am pretty sure they are open late though.

Don't do it, unless you really don't give a shit about being way overcharged. If you just need a little cash, use the ATM near the baggage area. The exchange rate they (the exchange place, not the ATM) give you is absolutely the worst you can find anywhere in the country.

You are absolutely correct in that observation but he specified "exchange window upstairs" which is the bank BAC-San Jose. Their rate is the bank rate of that day.

I posted about this matter in a way different thread, but I recognize the limitations of the search engine.

The best deal for changing money at the airport is the departure (UPSTAIRS) area. When you're landing, trust me, you're gonna get the shaft (although there is a Scotia Bank ATM which I've always HOPED would give a good guy rate....but the line was always too long....).

Go upstairs to the BAC (or is it BCR bank ) (to the LEFT of the desk where you purchase exit stamp tax deally bobs..).....and exchange cash:

IT STAYS OPEN UNTIL 10:00PM. THAT IS IT. After that.....you're on your own....

Again.....The BAC (or is it BCR) upstairs is open until TEN PM ( 10:00pm) (2200).

these are facts jack.

I guess that Evelyn Woods course I took isn't all it was cracked up to be. I stand corrected.

Thanks for the Info.

That would leave me ten minutes if the plane lands on time, which is not going to cut it. I guess I'll have to take a little out at Mia to pay my driver, and go to my usual late-night Chase Financial- the DR

Scotia, BAC, BCR, BN, HSBC, etc. It makes no difference which ATM you use. The rate you are going to get is determined by the bank that issued the card. The only difference is which ATM machine you use and if they charge a fee for using their machine and how much is the fee.

The bank at the airport is a BAC San Jose bank. BCR has no presence.

All I know is that the Bank upstairs closes at 10pm. I also know I do not know what the Scotia Bank ATM in baggage claim is all about. Given my massive distrust of banks, it would not surprise me if banks' ATM's differ in exchange rate from location to location....particularly when they're dealing with GREENGO's.....but I dunno....cuz the line at the ATM is too fukking long every trip and I am sick of telling people at the other bank exchange places to go upstairs.....but that's just me.....I like the way I do things and being me is FUNNNNN!!!!!!
