It makes me feel like I'm their DADDY or worse yet..GRANDDADDY.

Seriously though...I was curious....does that term refer to "older" guys only or do ticas also call their younger guys "PAPI"? Just wondering...

I also hate it when they use this word and if I hear "papi leche; leche papi!!!", the session is over. I had never really thought about whether they used "papi" for everyone or just us older guys so I just asked mi favorita. Her response: " We use "PAPI" for every cliente: old, young, gringo, Tico, Colombiano, European, Asian, all"! She said it is actually in most cases a term of endearment and is not meant to be bad nor negative towards the guy.

Now back to being called "papi" by my favorita 8)

Here in Medellin most of the Mom's call their sons and other boys Papi. Defintiely a term of endearment here.

Most of my amigas call me Papi Coooooooooocho!

tranquilo boys - if they call you papi, they probably like you. Sure they use it for a lot of clients, but they definitely use for someone they love. Has nothing to do with Daddy or your age.

Peace, love, and definitely call me Papi,

Don Rico

Like it was mentioned before, "Papi" it's just a term of endearment, along the same lines as baby, honey, sweetie, and such. It has nothing to do with age, race, age or anything like that. Like with a lot of other stuff you have to "read" it in context. Hope this helps, hear someone calling for "papi", and I'm the only guy here....

My grandma called my grandpa "daddy" every day, which I assumed she did because she got used to it after my mom was born, but when I was married the wife took to calling me "Daddy" every time she wanted something..including sex, donuts, roller skates...pretty much anything.

I took it as a fun thing..

Don't worry about the 'Papi or Papi Rico" comments. The one to worry about is the favorite of the Colombianas...."Ooh,ooh,ooh....ah,ah,ah...you so big....TAXI"
