When Laura is elected President and decides to kick out all the American Mongers where do we go? I am planning on going to Columbia this year because that is the country I think will be open to us. Anyone have other ideas? Our days are numbered.

Jmacula

CBJs might be "standard issue" for newbies in CR, but they are the exception and not the rule for any veteran BBBJ fan with even minimal game!

10 women my last trip (ish) and not one CBJ...All BBBJ..perhaps it is the lousy Spanish, and goofy sneakers?b

Seriously, we know you love asian, and good for you. Some of us happen to love speaking in Spanish, fiesty and firely Latinas, and all things Latin Amerrican... Saying that all sessions in CR are loosy is like saying that all Asian women have bodies like 12 year old boys- generalizations that don't hold up...Other countries in Latin America have a higher percentage of easy to find GFE and great sessions, but I had as many sessions this last trip as good as I have had in MDE or Lima, two places noted for great gfe, and where covered BJs are considered insults....

Still, CR is a great party...

As far as the qeustion above, it is similar to a tread I posted on undiscovered spots. Part of it is just how undescovered you are talking about..MDE is clearly far less monger-crowded than CR, and Lima even less so...both, however, are certainly not undescoverd, and both outsanding....In Latin America (the only place I care to monger), Montevideo and Ascuncion hold promise, although much is hidden...Some great out of the way cities in Peru, and I am sure thorughout Latin America, where action can be found for the creative...

Cuba, once the ideologues die off, and the technocrats and pragmatists take over (mid-10's, is my guess). 1-1/2 hours from Miami by speedboat, and OMG, the authentic Mojitos!!

Since the US economy took a dump - at least for the last 4 months - I have been doing really well with young women in the States. (I am 62)
My local (Jacksonville, FL) current 'novia' is a 21 year old anglo college student. She defintely does not consider herself as a PFP sex worker. Denial, I guess.
At rates competitive with HLH.
Life is good.

U.S. travel industry gearing up for return to Cuba

Reuters Anthony Boadle

It's too soon for Americans to plan a Cuban vacation of beach, mambo and mojitos, but the U.S. travel industry is gearing up for a return to its largest Caribbean destination before Fidel Castro's 1959 revolution.

Tour operators held a video conference with Cuban tourism officials in Havana on Wednesday and asked them if they are ready for the "rush" of Americans if the U.S. travel ban is lifted as proposed by legislation now under consideration in the U.S. Congress.

"Americans really want to see Cuba," said Robert Whitely, president of the U.S. Tour Operators, which together with the National Tour Association also present at the event, handles 75 percent of all package tour business to the Caribbean.

"We predict that at least 850,000 Americans will go to Cuba in the first year," Whitely said.

That does not include an estimated 480,000 Americans who will go to Cuba on Caribbean cruises when U.S. ships are allowed to dock there, and another 480,000 Cuban American visiting family in Cuba each year, a Cuban official said.

Cuba plans to build 30 hotels over the next six years with the help of foreign investors, adding 10,000 rooms to the 48,600 that exist now, as well as golf courses, said Miguel Figueras, the top adviser to the Cuban tourism minister.

Favourite PLAYGROUND

Cuba was a favourite playground for Americans in the 1950s, when the Mafia ran casinos and brothels in Havana that were closed by Castro. As Cuba veered towards communism, Washington broke off diplomatic ties, imposed trade and travel bans and Cuba's tourist trade all but disappeared for three decades.

Some 2.5 million tourists visited Cuba this year, mostly from Canada and Europe, said Figueras, who indicated that U.S. companies are losing out to the tune of $1 billion a year.

According to Cuban estimates based on 2 million Americans visiting Cuba a year, U.S. airlines stand to earn $600 million and travel agencies $300 million annually, Figueras said.

President Barack Obama has said he wants to improve ties with communist-run Cuba and lifted restrictions introduced by the Bush administration on visits and family remittances by Cuban Americans to the island.

But whether American tourists will return to Cuba will hinge on debate in Congress, where opponents say sanctions should not be lifted until Cuba frees political prisoners and undertakes democratic reforms to its one-party state.

They say American tourism will help prop up the communist government of President Raul Castro, who succeed his ailing brother last year.

A bill to end the travel ban sponsored by Democrat Bill Delahunt of Massachusetts and Republican Jeff Flake of Arizona has 195 backers in the House of Representatives, 23 votes short, supporters of the measure said.

Similar legislation in the Senate has the support of key senators such as Republican Richard Lugar of Indiana, but needs 60 votes to pass.

"They are within striking distance in the House," said Phil Peters, a Cuba expert at the Lexington Institute think tank.

No action on the bill is expected until the spring.

I really don't think Laura will do much to stop prostitution, it's just too much a part of the culture and, more importantly, the economy. She may make a show of it, but there will always be more supply than demand here in San Jose at least. It may become a little trickier for those who think all there is in SJ is the Del Rey, but for anybody with more than a superficial knowledge of SJ, sex will continue to be easy to find.

As a resident, I wouldn't mind seeing fewer knobby white knees and Hawaiian shirts.

Also, opening up Cuba would be great for me. I wouldn't have to watch all those Dolphins games in the sports bars.

I was obviously joking, but merely playing on the ignorance that someone thinks Costa Rica is current prime time.

Newbie? Hardly.

Multiple other Latin countries had already surpassed CR as a prime mongering location; in terms of quality, venue, price, and safety. You would have to be blind to not see that.

Personally I don't think Cuba will be THAT good to the majority of people whom frequent say the Del Rey. I'd put money on it being a very underground closed door type offering. Cuba is ultra conservative, they are not going to have thousands of Americans frolicking their girls all over the streets of Havana. Further more, you are the only country that can't currently go there, and I can't imagine that just because you are allowed to go all of a sudden its going to become a P4P mecca.

Post subject:  2 things

There are 2 opinions on this post that I certainly disagree with, or at least would like to know more about.

1. When Laura kicks us out------
I thought we put an end to that one. Certainly the most knowledgeable opinons have said it's quite unlikely to happen. There are also many new investments in new monger venues in the city (Like the new DI casino lounge) so I doubt that this is a real fear for too many people.. Also many places like SL are sold out for far after the election. So why the paranoia? Did I miss some news?

2. Many other Latin American countries have surpassed CR as a prime mongering destination-------------
Oh, is this so? My how we like to put down CR. If this is so then tell me what are they? The the CR is still the most popular destination for US men and there is a reason for that and it is not because we are stupid and do not know about other places. In Brazil and MDE the chicas are more beautiful. The girls are cheaper , there is far more quanity, and give better service in the far east and they are cheaper and give better service in some other Latin countries. But as I said there is a reason for CR's popularity.

I myself and many other men I have talked to that go to CR have 4 major criteria----Convenience,Total Cost, Variety, and Comraderie.

As for convience I don't see how you can beat CR for men who like to take several trips a year of relatively short duration. The DR equals it but they have other problems like more expensive flights and far less variety. You can get to CR in less than a half day and have a half day more vacation.

As for total cost , yes the chicas may be a bit more expensive, but when you put it all together including flight and lodging you can't get a much cheaper trip than CR. Also you can find attractive chicas in the MP's with great service who are far less expensive.

As for variety CR has chicas from just about every country in Latin America. Not many countries can say that.

But most important is comraderie. Not just the great male comraderie, but the comraderie with the chicas. In other countries about all you do with the women is have sex with them . In CR I have made relationships with chicas that go beyond sex and they have become my friends, with no other obligations. I can have serious conversations with them IN ENGLISH. We have common references. They are familiar with American pop culture, and sometimes even news, politics, and sports. We laugh at the same things. These girls are great drinking parters and fun to hang out with.

I am not a screwing machine although that's what brings me there to begin with. I enjoy the casual relationships I find in CR especially at SL.

So yes there are other countries with more beautiful women, more plentiful women, and less expensive women. But taking in the criteria which is most important to me, I would find it tough to beat CR. I have also found many men who agree which is why I beleive it is so popular.

i think we should approach this on 2 fronts:
1) we need to send an advance team of "advisers" to cuba to lay the ground work to establish the CRT way.
2) rumors should be started amongst the working chicas in CR that the scene is moving to cuba. done right this could create a international competition and give us an edge.

It seems that everyone is concentrating on Cuba becoming a mongering destination if the U.S. lifts the travel restrictions that it has placed on it's citizens. While that is an important first step there will have to be major changes on the Cuban side.

Currently prostitution is illegal in Cuba. Tourists can not bring a Cuban girl to their hotel room. These things would have to change to make Cuba a major player in the sex tourism business.

Will they change? Most likely but not in the short term in my opinion. I think their initial emphasis will be on creating the infrastructure to accommodate the traditional tourist market. There is a lot of potential tourists who either have wanted to visit Cuba but could not or those who will want to visit Cuba only because they were previously told they could not. After that demand is satisfied and after the old line communist rulers are gone there might be pressure to increase the number of tourists by making the country more monger friendly.
