Although I may have been baited into this the following will be forthcoming shortly (Next 10-30 days) I need some code work done to give you all what you wish.

Updated CRT Discussion forum to newest software phpbb3. Version which will give us the following.

A: Direct Calendar Link for all of your Needs

B: Direct Link to Chat Room (New) Part of discussion forum

C: A Shout Box Blog direct on the forum

D: VIP Trip Report Section with photo uploads possible limiting file sizes types accessed by VIP's only. This will be clearly marked regarding opening during work hours.

E: The long awaited Classified Section for everyone who wants to promote their goods, services etc here and there without being a full CRT Sponsor.

F. Moderators "Not Me" that will be able to move topics to their proper place and keep the neantherdals in line Hope I spelled that correctly

G. Direct Link to the VIP Section - Yes you will still have to LOGON!

This is not an inexpensive upgrade with all the code variations I want so Hopefully this will resolve the "EVOLVE" or Non "Evolve" Issue so to speak!

neanderthal....no invite to the secret CRT club, no invite to be a moderator.....at least I don't have to worry about buying drinks for my "friends" in CR....feel free to say hello though...I'm about 5 foot 6...150 pounds or so....middle aged, thicker glasses with one of those bands around them....normally wearing cargo type pants and I like my computer!!!

Should be interesting on the upgrades. I usually do not care for changes but I think this will be a good one so I am actually looking forward to it.

Will there be an improvement to the search feature? I would like to be able to search for a specific set of words (phrase), like "Del Rey casino" and it would only return posts/threads that contain the phrase "Del Rey casino", not all posts/threads that contain all 3 words anywhere in the post/thread.

Don't know if you will ever get exactly what you want on the search feature as it software driven but its highly improved.

Can you can limit it to sections - subsections - dates etc much better than our current software.

What *I* have found works best for me is for the software to return the POSTS that contain the search argument, NOT just the thread. Other boards have that option.

When it ONLY returns the thread(s) *I* still have to search through the thread to find the post(s) I want.

Sorry For the Long Delay just a little Update.....

Although the implementation and software upgrade will take about 8 hours at which time the "forum" only will be unavailable - I have hesitated to do he update as I have been traveling througout the Holidays and I am not all to familiar myself with the new software so it will take some time to learn it.

Now that I am back in Miami for an extended period I will be scheduling withe programmers who will be doing the conversion very soon.

We have added a ton of VIP sponsors this past month and I'll be sending out the 2010 welcome Newsletter with a full update along with the exact date of the forum software conversion.

buy yourself a nice, well-padded, comfortable chair, and then strap yourself in for the inevitable barrage of "we hate this new format!" and "If it wasn't broke don't fix it!" and "can't we just go back to the old format?everybody liked it"

Nobody likes change, and everybody hates to lose old friends, , which is the way that everybody feels about their favorite sites. I would just counsel everybody to reel in their tempers and their outrage until things have had a chance to settle in. Then we can bitch about how to fix it once we understand it, and be constructive

Admin, I also recommend buying some kevlar. Have you decided on the upgrade date yet?

75% of the members in a poll said a change and update was needed so Kevlar be dammed..

Waiting on word from the conversion people but in all likely hood sometime Jan 22 or 23.

The Long awaited Board software Conversion and feature Upgrade is now officially Scheduled. Since the upgrade team (NOT ME) Doesn't work on weekends we are scheduled for Next Friday at 7AM January 22ND.

The Forum will be OFFLINE for up to 12 Hours though they tell me it should not take anywhere near that long I wanted everyone to be aware of the downtown. Multiple back ups of all data is preserved & quite honestly we should or I should hope we have no issues during the upgrade.

Once complete we will have a ton of new features that you have all asked for.

Note the site VIP Access etc is NOT EFFECTED. Just the discussion forum.

I should preface this by saying this comment is not directed at Admin, since it appears he's in the hands of some 3rd party company: What kind of IT organization has the balls to tell a customer they "don't work on weekends", thus forcing the client to schedule a production system upgrade during business hours?

Let me at them, Admin -- I'll set them straight!
