I was just curious why some of you go where you do..

Is it type/nationality of girls that's the strongest pull?

For me, its convenience. Orlando to San Jose on JetBlue is a short 3 hour nonstop flight. No where else that I can go in that short amount of time and have the fun that I do.

I generally like to monger in locales that have other things to offer on top of the mongering scene. I went to Curacao a bunch of times to scuba dive during the day and monger at night. A number of trips to Amsterdam to sample the "coffee shop" offerings and the local beers, visit the National and Van Gogh museums, check out the bars. Prague for its incredible history, architecture, beer, nightlife. Lima for its proximity (via air) to the Andes and Amazon. Buenos Aires for its great restaurants and night life and cosmopolitan feel. Bangkok to tour the river and the temples and sample the incredible cuisine. CR to raft the Pacuare, hike thru national parks like Cahuita and Corcovado.

Having said all this, I lately find myslf going to CR quite frequently and never getting out of San Jose! Convenience and the relative low cost are certainly major factors as well for my addiction to CR.

I chose to live in CR because I felt I could learn Spanish, the girls were attractive enough and I didn't have to fly double digit hours to get here. If I could pick and choose, I'd love to have Prague and Rio girls here who charged Nica prices and gave Thai or Phils GFE and spoke English. Since that's fantasy, I settle for what's available in San Jose. If I needed 4 girls a day and liked hot humid weather, maybe I'd be living in the Phils or Thailand, though Malay girls really don't do it for me. Other than Colombia, San Jose weather is hard to beat.

I usually pick my trips the same way that Jetsetter described. I am also getting a bit adverse to long flights.

So, when deciding where to go, I factor in costs first

Plane ticket (SJO cheaper than MDE waaaaaaay cheaper that Rio)

Accomodations (saw off between SJO and MDE, Rio more expensive)

Girl costs, including dining and any other propina (again close between SJO and MDE, Rio more expensive)

Exchange rate (everything sucks right now, Peso waaaaay too strong, SJO takes our worthless dollars)

Then next is convenience and quality:

Ease of travel within the city (SJO over MDE, Rio close)

Experience with girls, attitude, performance..etc (Rio over MDE, SJO not even close)

Flight time (SJO hands down over MDE, half the time to get to Rio)

Quality of city and attitudes of locals (MDE in a landslide, Rio second...SJO...ugh)

Quality of food, again MDE in a landslide over Rio, SJO....pass


So, I'd choose Rio if it wasn't so far and expensive, I'd choose SJO for a quick down and dirty trip, but all things considered MDE ends up being the winner for me.

But I likes the latinas so Pattaya, AC...etc aren't on the radar at all

Klockman, well put.

For me it is a combination of all of the above. I don't like long flights, I like the value of cheap airfare, and I love the latinas. Also, even though I feel the locals in SJ have had enough of us gringos and don't like us much, the ease of mongering in SJ is very high.

Oh, and did I mention, there are some nice attractions outside of SJ

I like variety but the tilt is towards latinas. This year i have been to the Philippines,Mexico(TJ,Monterrey,Sinoloa),Costa Rica,Colombia, and to round out the year Thailand. I like them all but Colombianas and Mexicanas have me constantly looking for that next flight!

Addressing the poll choices first:

Ease of travel - everything's fairly easy from S. Florida where I live now - there's direct flights from either Miami or Fort Lauderdale to just about any Latin American destination - so that isn't really a factor. Anywhere I can get to directly within eight hours is fine, but I don't feel like I'd enjoy flying twice that far and crossing a bunch of time zones as is required for Asia.

Nationality/type of girls - going by the pics I've seen and accounts of experiences I've heard from friends, I'm not really feeling Asian girls. So I'll stick with Latinas for now, in all their various wide-ranging flavors. Considering the ones I've had extensive experiences with, I'd put Brazileras at the head of the pack for overall hotness and sexual appetite, Colombianas and Dominicanas in a virtual tie for second, trailed by Ticas and Nicas (with the exception of Nicas in Costa Rica, referring to all of them strictly on their home turf).

Overall ease of mongering in the location - this is somewhat important. Scenes that are fairly compact and don't require jumping into taxis to get from place to place have their advantages. This is one of the best things about Sosua - practically everywhere you'd want to go is within easy walking distance. But you won't find that too often in a city of any size.

Ease can also be a matter of how familiar you already are with a scene - if you've been there a few times and are somewhat acclimated geographically, you feel a lot more comfortable. Conversely, there's little that can match the sense of anticipation and excitement from checking out a new place for the first time.

Some other important factors:

Coastal location - Being born and having lived most of my life in S. California, I'm a beach guy, and if a place can offer a nice pleasant beach for chilling out, checking out the talent and/or pulling girls, it's a big plus. Of the places I've been to, only Rio and Sosua qualify on those counts.

Type of mongering venues - I'm not an MP guy these days - don't like the generally limited selection and 'point and click' method of hooking up. Rio termas get around that by offering an open setting where you get to mingle and interact (often very intimately) with the girls to get a better feeling for how you connect, so that helps.

My favorite type of venue is an independent scene within a disco environment - I get bored sitting around in bars. Here again, both Rio and Sosua offer fantastic hooker discos - Help and Classicos - where every night's a party and the buildup from a night of dancing and making out often leads to great times en la cama.

Perceived "bang for the buck". Costs for sessions in any venue will depend somewhat on the current exchange rates. Rio was relatively cheap as of this time last year, but would be no bargain now. Nevertheless, the quality of the session you normally get compensates. And I've found that both Medellin and Sosua offer better talent with better attitudes and service levels at a generally lower rack rate than San Jose.

Based on all of the above, my current favorite venue is Sosua - where I'll be making my third trip this year in less than two weeks. But I'm really anxious to get out and check out some new places - Cali, Lima, Havana and Port-au-Prince top the list.

Great Poll: I would have to say that the best overall mongering destination for me is Thailand but it is hard to get to, DR is easy to get too, but not too crazy about the girls, CR has got nice girls, but they are expensive when compared to other places. Brazil has got a great variety of girls, but the visa requirement, relative expense and distance are a bit of a disincentive, Colombia has got a lot going for it, but airlines don't seem to want to go there cheaply. Ah well, back to Thailand.

It seems obvious for all the Thai lovers that its either nationality or ease of mongering..

I'm guessing it must be a combination of the two with ease of mongering sharing the bigger load. It seems to me that LOS might be a bit easier for the average monger...

And what I mean by easier is getting what you want without having to work at all for it. Those girls just aim to please no matter what you look, smell, or act like..

I don't say that in a derogatory sense, it just seems like human nature plays less of a factor then in other locations....

That said, my dream location (Brazil) would be a pick exclusively on nationality. The way those girls are built and take it in the dumpster makes me wanna cry...Aye cono que caliente.....

Disagree with you there. Thai girls are picky as hell. Cleanliness is revered in Thailand. They tolerate certain things but if you smell, look like shit, or an obnoxious asshole they won't go near you. If you think it's point and phuck in Thailand you are mistaken. If a girl doesn't want to go with you she isn't obligated because she is an employee of the bar and is drawing a salary which while not great, pays the daily expenses. Like anywhere, you got hardcores that will do anything as long as you got money, but most Thais don't operate on that level at all.
