I was just thinking about all the change you get in general
Here in the states I have a change jug... I put all of the coin I have in my pocket in it every day and it does add up...
When in CR I try to use it up on Taxis and leave it for the maids or bartenders
Does anyone that lives down there just save it??? can you bring it to a bank and have it counted????
Costa Rica has alot of coinage but no one has any where does it go?

Location: NFM--Geezers, cowpokes and the working poor--yeeha!
Well, there's all those non-profit jugs at the airport--and your hotel will exchange a reasonable amount of coinage of the realmage...

It's rumored that C.R. coins actually copulate incessantly and therefore multiply like rabbits when you have your back turned...

I actually have a "special" use for these - I save them for those 'so-so' sessions when the chica asks for taxi fare - and she gets to wait while I count them as well...

I keep the 100 colone and 500 colone coins for "exact" taxi and bus fare and for "exact" drink amounts at the bars. Also for tips. The rest....I give to the hotel maids [along with some paper notes, of course]. 8)
