Dollar Exchange In A Tailspin

The US dollar, against the Costa Rican Colon, keeps on dropping, in a tailspin all week, dropping almost ¢10 colones from the open of trade on Monday to this morning as published by the Banco Central de Costa Rica (BCCR) - Central Bank. On Monday the buy for $1 was ¢576.87 colones, this morning the BCCR published a buy rate of ¢567.36. The sell opened on Monday at ¢586.31, this morning it stands at ¢576.99. The tasa básica pasiva (TBP) - the element used for calculating the interest rate a customer pays on bank loans in colones also dropped this week, from 9% to 8.75%.
