Post subject: | MP Raid Friday, READ THIS for your own sake |
Somebody I know was at an MP Friday afternoon when a shitload of police showed up answering a 911 call saying there were under*ge girls working there. The call actually came from one of the other girls (of age I presume). After asking some questions and checking IDs (or trying to... some girls didn't have any ID with them) the police hauled several girls and the guy I know (and possibly other clients) away to the station. The guy was held from early afternoon till midnight. They did a background check on him and released him, but he now has a legal shit sandwich, one part being that he can not leave Costa Rica for the next 3 months while the case is being investigated. For the record, the place is South East of Idem a few blocks. I have heard it called 'Sand' and 'Hotel Hong Kong.' I was also told the manager looked 'Asian.' I have never been there so that's all I can say. Several points to be made: 1: the MP did NOT check IDs of the girls or did NOT CARE. 2. this particular MP is NOT THE ONLY MP that is negligent this way. 3. You can not be sure that ANY MP is totally trustworthy. 4. The fact that the MP SHOULD have checked IDs does NOT let YOU off the hook. The fact that you THOUGHT she was old enough is NO DEFENSE in court. Bottom line is, mongers and especially MP enthusiasts should be aware of these facts. You could be completely innocent and still spend the better part of a day in jail. If they want to make it rough on you they can prevent you from leaving the country for 3 months. I live here and wouldn't care about THAT part of things, but many mongers have families, jobs and lives outside of Costa Rica. How understanding are your boss and spouse? I don't want to discourage guys from going to MPs, but just to realize that shit can happen. DO NOT ASSUME that MPs check IDs. If a cautious bartender in the USA would card the girl, YOU might think about asking her to show you her ID as well. Or not. It's up to you, but don't say you haven't been warned. |

That is San on the map. Since I like MP's (not the metropolitan police), am I guilty just being there? If I session with a girl and she is 100% legit, am I guilty by association if there is a minor there? On the lighter side, if policia come in during my session, do I get some kind of refund or credit? ![]() Dean |

Same goes for pulling girls out of the Rey or KL or anywhere for that matter. The fact that the security is supposed to check them does not let you off the hook. A friend of mine had to spend 300 to get the police to leave his house after the girl called them when he would not pay extra BKTUNA I amnever going home |

![]() Dean Refund? Of course! This is Costa Rica, after all. As far as being 'in the clear' goes if you're with a verifiable 18+ girl, I am pretty sure you wouldn't be convicted, and probably not even charged. Whether they would take you to the police station and hold you there a while just to send a message or because they are pricks... probably not, but who can say for sure? |

Your more reputable mp's will never have this problem. But the little dives you guys visit on "tour" meant for locals will be getting this more often than not. They do not have the money or connections to fend off police. And since they are as low as it gets on the pole anyway, they will tend to take those that others won't.Don't want trouble, steer clear of the little dives. |

Greengo-I don't believe it. I actually understood one of your posts for a change. Does that mean you are getting better or I am getting worse? |

I don't know if they actually would prevent you from leaving for three months. You know that money does a lot of talking in CR. It might cost you a few 'grand', but most things do have a price in CR. It would probably depend on how much of an 'example' or precedent they would want to make of the situation. |

Damn, I've sessioned at San (and never carded the girl). I always figured these MP's might have been pretty lax in their self-enforcement (not just San) but never worried that much about it as long as the chica looked fairly legal. Now that we've seen at least one case where it has come back to bite a gringo monger on the ass, I think I'll have to seriously reconsider that policy and start to ask to see their ID's whether I think they look legal or not. The questions I have are these: 1) Thespy had a good question and I'd like to know the answer to that too. Was the gringo anyone we might know? 2) Were the girls carted away just for not having ID's or were some of them actually und***ge (or perhaps in the country illegally)? 3) Was the guy carted away for actually being with a chica that was missing her ID or was actually und***ge or was any guy in there carted away for just being there even if he was in another room with another chica who did have her documentation? 4) Was this just an isolated and unusual case that would not have occurred were it not for this vengeful chica calling in the fuzz or is it an indication of similar such raids and strict enforcement to come? Recent political trends towards our hobby at least suggest it could be the latter. 5) I'm certainly not in favor of allowing und***ge women to operate in these places, but I seriously doubt the chica who called this in was motivated by such moral outrage so much as jealous rivalry or something else. And in doing what she did the way she did it she caused serious trouble for everyone else, including customers, all the other girls, and her employer, not just the chica she was trying to rat out. I strongly suspect she no longer works at this place and probably has been blacklisted at every other MP in town. So I hope it was worth it for her. Does anyone know what happened to the chica who made the call? 6) Even IF we ask to inspect their ID's, how many of us really know how to tell the difference between a fake cedula and a real one? Plus, from what I understand, one of the things these chicas sometimes do is borrow the ID of an older sister or friend and with the lousy photos that are usually on those things, how are we to know its not them? Checking ID's do provide greater cover, but not going with any chica who looks like she might be und***ge provides even better security. Unfortunately, that would also eliminate a lot of young attractive chicas who actually are legal. And, even if they look older than 18 and have an ID, unless the chica is really weathered, you still can never be completely sure. So there will always be some element of risk. |
