Paco made a great post today
I felt that any comments did not need to be in that thread
Paco makes a great point about how things were.... I have read most of it and laughed almost cried and learned
CRT has made Costa Rica good to me
Another site has a post about us all being ass wipes who do not answer any questions :oops:
Paco addressed many trends and problems
I will air out my peeves of the board and hope many will as well
For the good of CRT This is not directed at any one person

I started my thread on helping each other for this reason. We should all try to offer helpful suggestions and make sure that we keep the crap to a minimum. The board is an invaluable tool and I have made many good friends from it. I am personally pledging to help with any reasonable request for info and to recognize that personal opinions are just that. We will never all agree on every topic. The reasonable discusion of these things like Novia/No Novia help everyone understand the different ways to go about things here in CR and offer help and warnings about the potential dangers of certain decisions. The point is to promote awareness and share information without brow beating each other.

There will always be som crap spread wiht this many members but I personally find that it is ez to ignore. I simply do not read posts like "Last Post wins" therefore it does not bother me and if other find it amusing so be it.

I would like to se more of the veterans make a renewed effort to help out and see if we can be a little more helpful and productive,

It starts with where's BB, but it gets more into the topic at hand, helping out each other and some things about the board that may keep some from participating.

Another comment. Without this board, I would have lived out many mistakes others have made but they posted to share it so others wouldn't do the same. That is good stuff, gentlemen, and I believe the main purpose of this forum.

I have to disagree slightly. I think this board is extremely helpful and a ton of good people give great information. Yes, sometimes you get flamed. But do you have to get along with everyone at the bar? Is everyone a great guy at the bar? Is every guy on the same page with you at the bar?

No. Everyone doesn't get along and everyone is not a cool person.

To be quite frank, I have no complaints about the board. Always got my questions answered, easy to find info, and laughed a lot reading the board.

It is an idealistic notion to believe this board will be perfect. It will always have imperfections such as Admin 1 being a Yankees fan.

Its good that you guys bring it up on occasion. People should have better manners and be more helpful. I think idiots are treated appropriately and bad manners are singled out on occasion. What's really telling at times is when someone apologizes for being misunderstood and then explains their position.

The only thing that bugs me is when there is bloviating or when someone thinks they're funny and they aren't...at all. But this is easily dealt with. DON'T EVER READ THEIR POST!!!!

There are some great guys here and I salute all the Goodfellas....

I wish someone would start a new subject on Airline tickets an Prices. This would help everyone that Travels to and from Costa Rica. I am afraid to make any post. I always get bashed no matter what I say. SEAHAWK

Good point on airfares
I have gotten some bonus miles that I would have missed if I did not get a heads up from the board
Seahawk not a bad idea
You get bashed because it always seem like you are slepping something
You have been on the board for a long time
I digrees I think when anyone finds a cheap ticket pass it along dosen't hurt and my be of use to a bro

Yeah....that's a good idea about posting bargain airfares. We used to do it more so, before. Perhaps we got away from it when fuel went sky high, along with airfares, and there just wasn't that many good fares to post. :|

SIDENOTE: USAIRWAYS/TACA....Both about $275 TOTAL R/T....WASH/DULLES to SJO. Good schedules and flight times. Many dates through February. 8)

Yeah, sure. I think starting a new subject (flame) on airline tickets would be excellent (flame, flame) idea. It would really help people out (flame, flame, flame). Especially if they can't figure out an invention called the internet (flame, flame, flame, flame!)

Just kidding. But it really didn't hurt that bad, did it?

To sorta follow up on Brother BB2006's post but NOT a flame, a search here will show all the airfare comparo sites have been named, some of the better ones multiple times. The best to my mind is
www.farecompare.com which will send you email notices of significant fare changes. In many cases by the time a particular fare is posted here, it's gone. Going back to July, I found this:

A little on the history of this site: the first incarnation turned into a massive flame war and the site became useless. There should be disagreement and a little debate but if people let the flaming go too far this site WILL disintegrate.
