I accidently emailed the interview question one of the member posted to my work email (yea, no shit!!!). I am in a panic mode ever since. I deleted the email within 5 minutes without opening. I know that doesn't help because it probably stored in the main server or something. Am I in danger of getting fired guys?? Any IT guys or lawyers out there??? Just a week before my trip, this is not what I wanted!!! |

Bro, Can't help. I own my own business, so can't fire myself and I think "preview" is always smarter than "submit". Dean |

Don’t worry about it, there’s plenty of jobs out there. ![]() |

I don't have a total sense of this problem--Did you email it to anybody/ everybody on the contact list? It was definitely sent out? To only a few folks that you can talk to privately? Do you know anybody in your Corporate Legal Department you can confide in/ get honest advice from?--If you don't, now's the time to invite somebody out for drinks and a heart-to-heart (presenting the issue as a hypothetical of course)--or maybe an outside employment attorney. And to follow up on on Brother SnapperTrapper's advice, tone up your resume. None of this in panic mode--purely pro-active, not defensive measures. BTW, don't do this shtuff again. |

Jazzbo....Thank you for your advise. Believe me I am freaking out like crazy. I only send this to my own email id at work (LOL.....WTF right??) I wanted to send this to my personal email ID so I could access it at my phone. I liked the interview questions ( I don't know Spanish) so I could look it up on my phone while at CR. While I was typing the email ID, instead of using gmail I used my company domain and it went to my work email. NO ONE ELSES! I deleted the mail within 5 minutes but I know that doesn't help. What advise you have now since it doesn't involve anyone else in the company? No, I don't know anyone in the corporate legal department. Updating the resume and looking for another job is not something I really wanted to do at this time of my career in my company, but....... |

Brother K--I admit I don't really know how these things work but if you haven't broadcast it and it's only lying fallow in the server (which means somebody has to be looking at your account or looking enterprise-wide for certain words or phrases [which usually only happens when there's a major harassment lawsuit in the works], I wouldn't get in a sweat-panic--I really wouldn't. When was the last time you updated your resume? --Use this positively to do so. And hey those folks in Corporate Legal aren't sharks--one of the juniors can surely empathize if you sound them out carefully. Panic gets you nothing but a bad vacation--please view this as a learning opportunity. Truly> |

Thank you JazzboCR for taking time to respond to me. It does really help.....where else can I ask these question and express the feelings other than mongering forums? No one will understand the stupidity of what I had done. I hope nothing will happen. |

K, Jazz is the best, don't get jealous Nh. If you could possibly have anything more to hide than a bambino, then, enjoy your trip. I will be there. Just like my lady doc told me, enjoy your trip. Gives me a bottle of pills with cotton and two pills. So, I say Doc, WTF is this. She says free. I said, sounds Greek to me! Where is Steven, Cujo is very quiet right now. Dean |

Try not to worry about it too much. Worse case scenario, the burden of proof is on their side. they will need to prove the email originated from your other email account and YOU were the sender. Also, most companies have a "spam" or some sort of filter for these types of emails. If it was in fact get delivered to your work "inbox" just delete it and then delete it again from the trash bin. If anything you'll get a warning for emails like this. Unless you've already received multiple warnings..I doubt you need to look for a new job. ![]() But OTOH, if your company is looking for an excuse to lay ppl off, then i think you might have to start packing. ![]() |

Chico....It was delivered to my inbox at work and I deleted it immediately. I didn't get any warning and it's been around 12 hours. My company currently not looking to lay off people and I am doing a pretty decent job for my company (so I like to believe, or they make me believe). I never received any warning emails before because I am always careful about my internet usage and email usage at work (only read news papers and stocks). Ed (jazzbo) kind of calmed me down with his advise. Now I think about it ...while I was working for my previous company, I replied an email that contained an explicit word. I got a warning right after I send the email and it said something like "you have responded to an email that contained explicit language. This email is logged and you need to review the electronic policy". I didn't get a warning when I received the email. Ever since I am careful about deleting explicit words while responding to an email. I even delete the word HELL from an email before I reply. Now I emailed my self 15 or so questions that contained explicit words...how stupid!!!! |

Brother Kuttapan--Remember Brother Dean might be talkin' rounds of ouzo which (trust me) is some sneaky shit, headwise. Prepare yourself for big-time hilarious solve -the-world's-problems fun followed quickly by knee-walking, commode-hugging not-so-fun. Have your wingman keep a carafe of water and a couple of aspirin handy. You've been cautioned! |
