Post subject:  Upon Being Me!!!

I was going to post this in another thread that IMHO seems to have gone caustic, but didn't want to hijack that

At least I admit it, I'm phucked up!!! Isn't that what they say is the first step to..................

IMHO, no one is right, nor is anyone wrong when using words. Right and wrong are just thoughts that I use to give my ego what it is lacking/wanting at a certain time. Tomorrow my judgment could be completely different, which would neither make me right , nor wrong, about my thoughts today.

One of the biggest blessings that I have allowed myself in my recent journey in life (past twelve years), is the understanding that my judgment need not be deemed right by others (especially men), nor even by me. It only took me about 55 years to learn that, and the past six years have been more blessed than all the first 55 combined.

My goal is to look into myself, as soon as possible, when I am not thinking a thought that serves my highest goal, for self, and change it immediately. If I go into negativity even for a short while over something as insignificant as what another mans judgement/words is/are, I am wasting time that could have been used to positively progress forward with becoming a much happier me. While I understand the "I have to be right" mentality, my ego was soooooooooooo in tune to it, I now understand how much of my life I wasted.

I would like to thank all that have posted their words in that thread. It made me think about all the words that were written, and allowed me to go into a very positive space about myself. In the past I would have aligned my ego with certain thoughts I deemed as right, and looked for words to discount others..

As usual I have on my asbestos shorts, so let 'er rip guys. :)

Health & happiness to all................

Santas Bro,

I have to admit that at first I didn't know what you were talking about. However, after spending time with you in TJ, I learned to appreciate your philosophy and enjoyed the time spent with you. Either that, or I was enlightened by the all the tequila we drank!

Ciao... I once told a chica " I have to admit that at first I didn't know what you were talking about. However, after spending time with you in San Jose and your 7 bambinos and all your tias and tios... and your mami and papi, I learned to appreciate your philosophy and enjoyed the time spent with you." Next thing you know she threw me down on the cama and the rest is history!

So, when are you and SB going on your 2nd date? :P  :P  :P  It's a joke. Just kidding you!

I would love your philosophy if there was no wrong or right and if no one was every hurt by someone doing wrong. Unfortunately, that is not the real world. We know right and wrong and people are encouraged to do right when the wrong they have done is not overlooked.

SB, you know I love ya, bro, but I have to look at my own face in the mirror every morning and I can't do that if I feel that I have condoned some wrong act.

I can't keep everybody happy and many are happiest when miserable, so I just try and do the right thing and encourage others to do so as well. Everybody doesn't have to love me.....

I've got a different take on what SB is conveying. It's about inner strength, self esteem, self cheer leading and knowing at the end of the day the only thing we control is ourselves. This is similar to the religion of Hinduism, where one doesn't pray necessarily to a God, but worships ones own self.

Glad as I am to see the Great Transcendentalist quoted here, he actually said, " A foolish constancy..." Often misquoted and not at all the same thing, as a look at Dictionary.com will show. Sorry to be a b-buster on this but Mr. Emerson is my Main Man.
BTW, that's the perfect quote to illustrate what Brother SB was saying. Personally sometimes I would dearly love to be wrong...I just so infrequently am. How's that for an ego-display?

I appreciate all your words, even those who disagree with me. I would have been sorely disappointed if everyone had agreed.

IMHO, it is nice to see a post, so far, where men can disagree, and not have to use words to try beat their point into others. IMJ, even those that did not agree with what I wrote, presented well thought out positions that were not attacking me. :D

To me, it has shows what can be accomplished, when the words aren't biting me, I see the other person as more powerful, and not advesarial, even though we do not agree.

If one other person has given this some thought, whether they agree or not, my post accomplished my wishes.

Health and happiness to all...........

Santas Bro

Gaze upon the water and you will find your reflection. As you look further into your reflection you will find your soul as the ripples fade all that will be left is your soul. Do you dear to argue with you own reflection. It is you who has made it. So why be so sad my brother you have choices. Choice is not a death sentence. It is not the ultimate decision. You chose to be what you want to be if tomorrow you do not like it chose another way to be until you get it right. You will find joy and happiness in your self as you partake of your journey. Oh promise me you will not DECIDE. to be or to become. Because you will have no other recourse or choice. To deCIDE is to make the ultimate decision and there is no way out. Think of HomiCIDE, PestiCIDE, SuiCIDE to CIDE is to end it all so brother SB as long as you stay in the realm of Possibilities and CHOSE and not DECIDE who you want to be or become You will be ok.
Much love.

JAH RASTA FARI

Peace and love my brother
