All right here we go again. I know I have been a critic of the threat of the alledged flu pandemic. I know I was self-indulgent in my worries on how it could affect my trip to CR.

Now I hear it is a real pandemic. I just read some staggeriing numbers in the US. But hardly anyone is seriously ill.

I took my 5 day trip to CR last week and I was told about how many people had it. The President even had it. But again hardly anyone was seriously ill.
People were joking about it

Then I came backand I felt fine, but 2 days later I got an awful cold. No aches or pains just a bad head cold. A woman I know called me and said she had been traveling and had a cold too. So we figured what the heck , we both had nothing to lose, so she came over and we had great sex. We sweated like pigs which of course builds your immunity systems. A couple of days later we are both feeling much better.

I guess this is why so many people seem to be getting it in CR, but few people are getting seriously ill. Pehaps it's because they have a lot of great sex there.

In the meantime this still seems to be overblown. If all those US tourists didn't get it in the initial outbreak I wonder if we would hearing about it. And of course none of them became seriously ill.

It still seems to me somebody is making a big buck off this. Pehaps me and my friend have found the cheap cure.

I returned to the states from CR on August 4th. A few days later I came down with something. It started with a tickle in my right sinus that developed into a constant drainage. From there it moved into both my sinuses and my eyes. I felt extremely tired and ached all over and then developed a slight fever and severe headache. All cleared up after about 10 days. H1N1? Who in the hell knows or was it just the 6 plus hours I spent in typically filthy AA Jets.

Your symptoms are so much like mine it's scary. I don't have aches like you but all else is the same. But still if it wasn't for all this flu publicity I wouldn't even be giving it a second thought. I found nobody in CR with much concern, and if I could, I would go back there today and not even think about it.

Completely agree but this time thanks God I didn't even get a bad cold even with all the making out with chicas and close personal contact. Little tired from the travel and lack of sleep and felt like maybe a little fever but took it and not high so very lucky this time. Has been 11 days so if I do get sick not from there but do agree with you the H1N1 is goin around.

The Great Pandemic at least in the US is...obesity. It's gonna kill more people more different ways than that lame-ass flu bug ever thought of.

Yep.

2008 deaths in the United States attributed to obesity 280K

2008 deaths attributed to flu 36K

Live a little; stop eating so much rotting flesh, and dairy product. A simple motto; "if it has a face, don't eat it"

Oh well I guess that means no more fish and frog-legs, and I'll have to give up chocolate-covered ants too (depending on how you define "face").

Yep, every bit of it. Besides, what's the worst thing that could possibly happen aside from flushing all the accumulated waste from ones intestinal tract...?

May I introduce the concept of the high colonic? That way, you can eat what you want--responsible portions please--then flush the accumulated waste out every once in awhile. This from somebody who's 5'8" and 165 at age 63. Some folks even find this fun:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_colonic
I sometimes say--You can't always trust your friends, but you can always trust your enemas.

Placing blame. Hijacking thread.

Obesity can largely be blamed not on sedentary lifestyle and high caloric intake, as is so often reported in the media, but due to the fact that all of us are victims of a major conspiracy between the food processing industry, the livestock feeding industry and big pharma.

They created the problems (high blood pressure, high cholesterol, high triglycerides) through overprocessed foods, genetically-altered foods and a fast food industry that gives the illusion that one is being fed...then big medicine and big pharma ride to the rescue with their Lipitor etc.

Read "Fast Food Nation" for a more complete explanation. Then see the film "Food, Inc." to learn even more.

The plebians are being fed bread and given tickets to the circus. History repeats itself...again.

I agree with El C. As I posted on another thread, I have recently dropped 25 pounds in a little more than 3 months. Yes, I have been working out like a crazy person, which includes aerobics. Sitting in a hot sauna, watching what I eat but..... the little extra boost comes from a Colon Cleaning supplement. Available in any GNC store. Works wonders for the midsection and seems to elevate my mood. Just a warning though, when you first start taking it don't get too far from a bathroom loaded with several rolls of TP. :-)

I they created the problem why would anybody continue to endorse such a business model - "use constitutes acceptance"

After all, how can anybody bitch about the toxic laden tobacco industry while sucking on a winston...
