"I Like Girls" by The Hound Dogs and "Los Muejeres Todas"by Eddy Herrara. One in English and the other in Spanish. One Eurodance and the other Merengue. Both with the same message and damn on point. |

Zippy, They (Gogol Bordello) just played in Tampa last week. Some of their songs are not bad. There's even a little bit of samba in some of their music, as the leader of the band has lived in Rio for the past couple of years. Funny you should mention 'House of the Rising Sun' by Eric Burdon and the Animals. I have for a long time substituted San Jose and the Del Rey in the lyrics. The song is a classic! It wasn't written by the Animals. I think it was written by a black blues singer in the 1930s (40s?). It's about coming of age in a brothel in New Orleans. Many bands have covered the song, but I still think the Animals version is the best. I still like the line in 'Hotel California' (another classic) by the Eagles... 'You can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave'. |

Astrud Gilrberto The Girl from Ipanema This is a great song and she has one of the sexiest voices (and you can't beat Stan Getz). This song, for me, just hits the nail on the head concerning "all the woman" in a latina (just spotlights everything sexy about them). Si o Sim.
